For the time being, please do not attach me on PMs with your orders (only send them to Badgate).  I will elaborate this evening.

Just the orders?

No, not even those.  Direct all game-related PMs to Badgate for now.

So I was hoping that I might be able to join the game if most players approve.  If it happens, I promise not to in any way use/trade on knowledge from when I moded (most of which will be public knowledge anyway at the end of the turn anyway) and enter as a pragmatic mid-level Lord (Roose! ) so as not to randomly screw up the power-dynamic in the game.  I'd also be willing to forgo having a special ability if necessary.  I know Talleyrand, Badgate, Lumine, Dereich, and Enduro have all signed off on it, but I thought I'd put it out there for the rest of you guys too.  Thoughts?

Fine with me. I would recommend an essosi faction though, or someone like House Velaryon/Rosby so as not to rock Lord's paramounts' boats though. Crownlands factions are all fair game imo, Roose is a but too involved and you far too sneaky

I think we need to have a serious sitdown about your addiction though Wink

Cool, although Roose hasn't really done anything all game and I don't see why my being sneaky should factor into whether or not this is okay for me to do.  My thinking with Roose is 1) right now only Enduro is doing stuff in the North and it'd be fun to add another player there (Enduro actually seemed to like the idea of me joining as Roose, so I doubt we have to worry about rocking a Lord Paramount's boat Tongue ), 2) Roose is probably the only character left who'd be really fun to play as realistically (unless someone dies) without screwing up the current power structure, 3) Essos isn't really involved in anything going on, and 4) Too low a level Lord (like Rosby or Velaryon) would probably restrict my gameplay too much.

Disregarding everything else, I seem to recall a player having pretty great success as a bastard born non-lord with no assets but a few boats...

Garlan's success as Aurane was kind of a one-off though, I think.

Rosby is a pretty high Lord with lots of land and power, easily more than Roose I'd say. Better land and denser population.

So then why not let me be Roose?  He's less powerful and landed by that logic, so it shouldn't be as big a risk of unfairly screwing up the current power dynamic.

Do you mean that the turn will end then or that the end turn will be posted?

Wednesday. I'll post the start of turn four too. Oh and Malcolm will be joining as Roose in turn 4 after all.

Not to rush or anything, but any chance it'll be up before midnight?

So. I was told this place is fun. Which noble house to ruin first and as whom?

There are many middling houses available at present. We have someone playing as Roose Bolton, for example. Any lord you wish should be alright.

If I recall correctly, Jon Connington, the Florents, and Orton Merrywether are available.

Jon Connington might not be a good choice because Balon Greyjoy is about to execute him.

Good point lol

As per last PoV, JonCon's already drowned.

Totally.

Decided to be a bit more direct than another boring old PoV... x

Re: your proclaim: Err...that's not how trial by combat works.  The one on trial (Quellon) can't use it to do anything but determine their own guilt/innocence nor do they get any say in who they face.  Hoster Tully isn't on trial for anything so there's literally no reason anyone would expect him to have anything to do with your trial by combat.  Your accuser would choose who you face and given that IIRC it is the crown accusing you, the general expectation would be that Quellon face a Kingsguard.  Good luck against the likes of Ser Dayne Tongue

@ Badgate: If we don't have a POV by Sat, can we skip right to end of turn?  Also when will we hear back about mod questions?

Malcolm,

are you still speaking with Mod authority? x

I am not demanding who I face, just suggesting to H Tully where his honour lies (and hinting it might be a quick way to make up for Rhaegar at same time)

Also ponder - what if I'm not planning to win said trial? xxx

PS Please let it be Dayne! Hilarious narrative outcome given Starfall's beef with me

PPS Hmm...Vicky on the Wall?!

I'm not speaking as a mod (obviously), but that doesn't change the fact that we both know I'm right Tongue

I'll post a list of characters you may join as ASAP, Metis! I'll definitely consider including House Florent, since you mentioned them.

POV will be tomorrow night, I didn't get to start writing it until tonight Sad

If people want more time after the POV before the turn ends we can extend it, but personally I'd like to still end it Saturday at midnight since I'll have the time Sunday to get the end of turn out.

My vote is definitely for ending it Saturday!

As, I said, I'd strongly support skipping the POV.  Since it is currently deadlocked 2-2, I'm gonna create a poll.

Fascinating results, but why is The Blackfish in hiding/exile?

Fun fact: GameWalder is lucky that the GameStarks are so honorable, otherwise I would've had a wolf's head sewn on to Walder Frey's body in place of his own Tongue

The Sword of the Morning lost...? Oh, gods...

There was literally only one number that would have had Victarion winning, and i audibly gasped when I rolled it.

What was the Riverlands thing about?

Huh?

You said the Blackfish fled due to an Iron Born invasion.

@ Badgate: One other qubbile: I'd ordered all the Freys including Walder Frey to be executed.  Could this please be corrected?  For some reason it says I gave Walder Frey to the Tullys, but I explicitly ordered his execution, I still have the PM if you need proof.

I have a friend who wants to join up and plans on taking Lord Royce, just to let ye know. He should be making an account later today - hopefully he can join in on this turn.

Could we maybe get him to play the captain of a sellsword company?

I don't think there was a sellsword captain listed among the list of open characters that Badgate provided (although if Badgate wants to add Vargo Hoat as a playable character, I'd be down with that Tongue ).

@ Blair: I'd humbly request that you execute all the Freys since I'd already put in an order for that to happen last turn when I had them, but Badgate seems to have given them to you instead for some reason.  I'd have thought "put all the Freys to the sword" was clear, but I guess not Tongue

I think it's more muddied than that leo, but Aegon Snow does sound cool so I switched it

Malcolm, I have added a word to assuage your sedulous vigilance

Can we get any hints?  Lumine would sometimes say which characters would be getting POVs.

Bran was 7 during his first POV. Renly is almost 6. It's a possibility?

What about saving some of the child/infant characters, etc for a multi-POV epilogue when they are adults at the end of the game?

Are the direwolves mod approved?  That seems kind questionable, if not.
