Kevin McCarthy will be Speaker.  McMorris Rogers could be Whip, but she'll never rise higher than that and I doubt she even becomes Whip.  Some combination of Jeb Hensarling, Pete Sessions, Tom Price, Jim Jordan, and Pete Roskam will be in the mix.  I say Roskam becomes Majority Leader and Sessions becomes Whip (if not him than McMorris Rogers probably becomes Whip).  I think Hensarling isn't quite close enough to the front of the line yet, Jordan has made waaaaay too many enemies within the Caucus (he is like the Ted Cruz of the House Republican Caucus), and Price has already lost some leadership fights IIRC (plus I thought he wants to run for Senate).

McCarthy isn't particularly in tune with the base, but he is one of the more plausible options.

Why don't you think McMorris Rodgers will advance any further in leadership? I don't really see any black marks on her time in the House.

Just a gut feeling more than anything else.  Btw, Scalise is running for Whip per Politico.

Also someone (probably McCarthy) in that Caucus is thanking God for Boehner's pledge not to endorse anyone.

The Amash, Labradour, Huelskamp crowd are starting to rally around Hensarling for Majority Leader according to the Washington Post.

Apparently Pete Sessons has been sending out e-mails and texts asking for support in for his bid for House Majority Leader.  Roskam will run against Scalise for Whip, per politico.  Jenkins, McMorris Rogers, Price, and Jordan are all considering running for something.

Jim Jordan is also supporting Hensarling for Majority Leader, I wonder who the Labradour/Heulskamp/Jordan crowd will push for Whip.

McMorris Rogers is officially out of the running for both Majority Leader and Whip.

Hensarling isn't running for Majority Leader.

I wonder what he is getting in return.  I imagine McCarthy beats Sessions rather easily, no?
