This is damning but this is the issue that Democrats think anybody cares about but really nobody does.

IDK, it is not just ONE story, there is now a bunch of stories. I don't like this  Sad

I, though, a little bit suspicious to this story. If Russians are such a good hackers, they would cover up it Undecided

Sorry, but this is a nothingburger. It proves literally nothing and any hacker worth his salt would have routed communications though proxies which cannot be traced.
It was my though as well. But it sort of implies that slate "faked" the data? I have a bad opinion of media, but..

Nope, the fact that Trump abruptly shut the server down when the NYT was sniffing around is a smoking gun

It's not much tbh.. Unless you have a very specific smoking gun, these stories are too complex to be digested by the public so late in the cycle

Yeah, they should at least find a dickpicks between Trump and Putin or something...

Yeah, they got outscooped, so they probably have a big write up coming up, and they're a big enough platform that other people may well pick it up and run.

I am probably missing something, but how do we know, that NyT were about to publish a similar story?

So Putin hired Trump for 5 years ago to run in 2016 elections? OK

But didn't say him to clear his taxes and not join/start Birther-movement? OK

And if this is true, Putin is really a good leader and played out Obama, FBI and you-name-it, no?

@Trumpista:

not even a genius like putin and his best advisors can fine-tune a madman like trump.

but: trump changed nearly ALL of his positions but this one...which he clearly could have avoided by rejecting putin one time REALLY HARD.....he never changed. seems kind of strange - maybe he just a reaaaaaaaally loyal guy.

Yeah, Trump has always had a weird rethoric about Putin, what I always found strange, at least.

But you would need a really solid evidence for this one. Otherwise it will look as "breibart" conspiracy theory...

ofc putin and his people couldn't plan that the GOP elctorate would be so easily foiled.

life is a collection of coincidences.

btw....like some people on twitter pointed out:

if trump could just maybe....release his tax returns to prove his non-connection to russia....

You really think that Russia hired him 5 years ago, but could not cover up taxes? Huh

I'm guessing the mainstream networks are corroborating before sending this out. When it does come out, it's going to be a complete campaign-ender if this is even remotely close to true.

I think they examine it. If they all go all-in with this and it turns out a bs, Trump will certainly a next president.

If only they'd shown the same careful restraint with Comey's release about Clinton's emails. Roll Eyes

Lol, you think they would not publish it immediately if they received a letter from Comey about Trump-Putin dickpicks? Cheesy

Maggie Haberman, NYT linked to the MotherJones article and tweeted: "Manchuria Global, 2016"

Does she has knowledge of this. One should be expert to understand it, no?

Ya this hit seems not very organized. Definitely not like the Trump taxes, Bush tape, sex allegation stuff which seemed coordinated. This seems very last minute oppo push.

Oh I generally agree with that, but in general I've lost a lot of faith in the government over the course of this election
Wait...

So you don't only think Trump is a Russian agent, but that FBI covers this up? OK, all right!

OK. So what have we learned? That Clinton camp went to completely unprepared attack towards Trump shooting in all directions hoping that some s**t will stick.

It smells desperation. You just do not do it the same day when you are saying that NV is in your bag, internals are just good and Comey has not had any effect at your voters. Probably, the opposite is true. Your internals at best look like ABC poll.

lmao, who still takes "anonymous FBI sources" seriously? Disgusting article from the NYT and its team of intrepid court stenographers.
You better be quiet...

Wendi Deng is the woman who was previously married to Rupert Murdoch before (allegedly) cheating on him with Tony Blair, right?

Yes. Rumored to be dating Putin since this spring.

I hope you stick around for election night.

If Trump wins, I even might move to USA [though it is really hard to move over there]. I consider, NY, San Francisco or Florida. What would you recommend?

Me too, actually. Say what you will about the guy (and I will), he's self-aware and knows how to takes his bumps in good-enough fun.

What a beautiful fett... endorsement! Shocked

LOL... He was about to talk about "orgia" [probably what Trump did to Jeb! and other nominees?]... You can't just do it...

Even CNN journalists got embarasssed. Well, man, it might be McMullin's Aleppo moment.

If it quiets the "FBI letter" BS, that's a point in her column.  If Trump has to say he's not a Russian agent on national TV, that's a win. If he can actually be painted as one, that's total victory.
Now I am little bit scared. Trump has not to say this, bad he might anyway. He sorts of likes to defend himself and answer to every minor stuff (like Khan, Trump could just let it go)... If he wasn't 3-5% down in poll, he really could. Still might.

I am not kidding.

So Putin has gotten to the New York Times now?

***ALERT*** Take the NT Times FBI push-back story with a BIG grain of salt.
They quote Breitbart.... Ya... right...

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/11/01/us/politics/fbi-russia-election-donald-trump.html?rref=collection%2Fbyline%2Fsteven-lee-myers&action=click&contentCollection=undefined®ion=stream&module=stream_unit&version=latest&contentPlacement=1&pgtype=collection

Mr. Stone derided the accusations and those raised by Michael J. Morell, a former C.I.A. director and a Clinton supporter, who has called Mr. Trump “an unwitting agent of the Russian Federation.” In an article on the conservative news site Breitbart, Mr. Stone denied having links to Russians and called the accusations “the new McCarthyism.”

Plus... click on authors names and examine their previous stories. Judge for yourselves.

http://www.nytimes.com/by/eric-lichtblau

http://www.nytimes.com/by/steven-lee-myers

You sound like Breitbart usual conspiratorial reader...

Yesterday's stories were sort of IQ test. Not many Red Hacks passed it, I have to admit Sad

As I stated yesterday: Americans have this kind of media that they deserve.
