So what is it.  Comey acted too fast and before he know what was going on, or he was too slow and should have revealed it sooner.  You guys are making my head spin!

It looks like he deliberately held back releasing information to influence the election(which he wasn't even required to release). If Comey released this 5 weeks ago, none of us would be complaining.

I highly doubt Comey would do what he did unless they found something that may alter the course of the investigation. It just doesn't make sense otherwise, unless it was a maneuver to cover himself in case he's hailed back in front of congress for saying they had closed the investigation when in fact they have not.

I don't think he would do this just to influence the election. There are obviously a lot of rumors out there, but if any of them are true, it's horrible news for HRC.

Exactly. He sent that vague letter with pure innuendo and clear intent at this point, given the new revelation that he's withholding information on Trump's campaign due to "timing." He's being duplicitous at the least.

I don't think that it was vague. All the hype came from "reopening", but it was not Comey's word, niether his fault.

The biggest problem is that Comey didn't provide any details, I am not sure if he even had the details at the point.

He literally said FBI don't know anything yet.

I know exactly what it means--I just don't think it's a good idea for Clinton's campaign to draw more attention to this whole situation than it's already getting--releasing them publicly would put 100% of the media coverage on Clinton the rest of the election cycle.

Agree, but it is sort of lose-lose situation. If she is not at least pretending to want to release emails, it looks bad as well. Like she is hiding something. Lose-lose.

FBI is hiring best people with best merits, believe me, folks. Obama "hired" Comey because Comey had a tremondious merits. Best words, best people, folks!

I have absolutely no reasons to question FBI/Comey. As Obama said "I do think that there is a norm that when there are investigations, we don’t operate on innuendo. We don’t operate on incomplete information. We don’t operate on leaks. We operate based on concrete decisions that are made".

And all critique of Comey's letter is based on rumors as "the source say", i.e. at best "incomplete information".

Comey is the one who has most complete information.

b) the letter was not vague. Media saw what they wanted to see. The same happened in July. Clinton was not indicted, but media did spin it in opposite direction
