Vice-chair speech
Greetings comrades

Today we are at an important point in our party's history. We have a GLORIOUS trifecta and through the hard work of many people we achieved a great election result. However, we must not rest on our laurels. This is a great opportunity for us, to be able to make the most of our trifecta and do things right. Plenty of mistakes were made in our last trifecta that resulted in the Atlasian left failing to live up to its promise. I will do everything I can as Vice-Chair, working alongside the rest of our leadership team-in particular with Sestak (who I endorse for Chair and believe has the skills to deliver great results for the left)-to ensure we deliver our promises and retain our trifecta for many elections to come.

I have much experience at the party leadership level, and I have consistently developed in these roles. In particular I have served in a vice-chair position before, albeit not in this party, and I have reflected on and learned from that experience to enable me to make the most of this opportunity. The party bylaws set out the key roles of the vice chair, in particular there are two that I'd like to point out today. The bylaws state that the vice chair "Is in charge of Party recruitment in order to grow the Party", this is an area of expertise for me and one where I delivered in this election. The new recruits that I brought into our party helped ensure our victory, and already we are seeing them being integrated into the party and take on active roles in the game, which is a key priority of mine and something I will work to encourage.

Additionally, we did well at maximizing the efficiency of our votes in Senate elections to reduce how much of our overall vote ends up being wasted votes, and this will be something I will also work on to ensure we maintain a secure majority in the Senate. I have a detailed understanding of the electorate that helped us maximize the support our party and in particular our presidential ticket achieved in this election, and I can put this to use again in helping our party thrive in the months ahead. Despite our victory, there is plenty of room for improvement, and October 2019 is not safe hold for Labor, so there is still more work to be done.

The vice chair also has an important role in policy development and ensuring the party's principles are well-known. My firm belief is that policy is our strength, and there is a clear majority for our stances on the issues. When the focus is on policy-as opposed to Discord cults and personal drama-we win. Another issue is to ensure that we are open and honest with one another in the party, and too much drama has been caused by communication issues. We share common goals and far more unites us than divides us. We should enable others to understand where we are coming from, understand where others are coming from, and address potential issues we have before they boil up and create division and drama in the party.

In conclusion, I am ready to be part of the team and am excited to get to work in ensuring that we can maintain and achieve progressive governance that delivers for Atlasia. I have the experience and I understand what it takes to do well, and I have plenty to offer to achieve the goals we all strive for.

Thank you
