Warren's policies poll very well though and a strong economic message would be much more effective against Trump than a Hillary 2.0 campaign of highlighting Trump's personality which Biden is pushing for.

Buttigieg's percentage has gone up about 2 points in the RCP average in the last fortnight, not a tremendous surge but seems good for him.

Slow but steady wins the race more often than not.

Tbf Warren's got the dynamic too and she's got a better starting position.

Why do people think it is a good idea to have another unqualified President?

Lol, how is he unqualified? He’s probably the most intelligent person in the entire field.

Being a mayor, especially since he is mayor of South Bend, is not adequate preparation to be President of the United States.

To be fair, Trump's presidency has been a disaster because he is an egomaniac who surrounds himself with people who affirm his lies, not because he is "unqualified."

There are many reasons that Trump has been a disaster, that's certainly a valid one, but being severely unqualified has been a factor that has hurt his presidency too.

The issue isn't that he's "unqualified". If that was an issue, Hillary would be president.

The issue is that his mayoral record leaves a lot to be desired, especially if you're progressive.

I don't think Hillary-level qualifications are essential. Many if the senators, eg Warren, are probably qualified. Obama may have been slightly inexperienced but overall was qualified for the presidency. I don't think Buttigieg is ready for the tremendous responsibility of the US presidency though, I don't see him as presidential right now.

Buttigieg said Democrats "aren't known for worrying about deficits and the debt" and Democrats need to "start getting interested in deficits and debt". This is a horrendous moderate hero stance. It blatantly ignores history given that Bill Clinton brought the budget from a large deficit to a big surplus and Obama reduced the deficit by 2/3rds, while of course every Republican administration starting with Reagan has seen a big increase in the deficit due to Republicans cutting taxes for the rich and increasing military spending. It isn't a valid criticism that Democrats have been disinterested about the deficit and fiscally irresponsible, so it's weird that Buttigieg seems to think this or at least says it publicly. Even while criticizing Trump, Buttigieg echoes Republican talking points. This seems illogical, why can't he like most Democrats make the case for the party on fiscal responsibility and be honest? Maybe he thinks undermining his party will attract swing voters and make him more moderate, most likely this kind of point-scoring will just help the Republicans.

He also discredited Warren re: creating the CFBP.

The sooner we reject this guy, the better.

What did he say about Warren?

It seems like Buttigieg is losing momentum at the wrong time. Warren may have some slight momentum after the Des Moines Register endorsement (which would be pretty bad for Buttigieg because they're fighting for many of the same voters), Sanders definitely has momentum (which doesn't take many voters from Buttigieg but makes the overall outcome worse for him), Biden seems stable as usual (which makes it harder for Buttigieg to compensate for losses) and Klobuchar also has some serious momentum at Buttigieg's expense. Buttigieg seems a bit underrated on electability, but if anyone gets a late swing to them due to electability it'll be Biden.

My guess rn is that he comes second in New Hampshire with a small bounce, perhaps if the caucuses hadn't been such a mess he could have gotten a bigger bounce and could end up winning New Hampshire (most likely not even then). I'm not sure where his candidacy goes from there. Some new polls in the coming days will be very interesting to see if he's picking up more support.

How can you say supporting a public option is a Republican talking point when you yourself support a public option? Your hatred of Buttigieg is defying logic here.

I'd much rather have Pelosi in charge of getting the votes for the Democratic President's agenda than some untested newbie.
