Reagan presided over a massive peacetime economic expansion, and contributed to the demise of international Communism. Trump would destroy the economy with his protectionism and crackpot monetary policy, and alienate practically every ally we have. Plus, Reagan's not a threat to basic democratic norms like free speech/press, which is really the no. 1 reason I'll do whatever it takes to stop Trump,  which means voting Clinton. It's pretty telling that so many lefties on this thread are saying Trump just because they agree with him slightly more on economic issues. I'm also going to take a wild guess that they're not the Hispanics Trump wants to deport or the Muslims he wants to spy on.

They're actually pretty similar in terms of intelligence level, and both fit the bill of fanning anti-intellectual flames among their constituency. Reagan had a far, far more pleasant and smooth tone to his messages though.

If Trump is actually as dumb as he looks and isn't faking he makes Reagan look like Stephen Hawking. I'm pretty sure Reagan didn't think that judges "sign" laws (that was actually his job) and didn't base his campaigns around juvenile personal attacks that aren't relevant to anything. Trump would've just made a crack about Gorbachev's birthmark instead of saying "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall"

Okay, I'll admit I laughed at that because I'm a terrible person.
