It takes an amazingly conspiratorial mind to believe that ALL these women must be lying.

Not necessarily. Being a partisan hack would do.
True enough. Either way, it's incredibly depressing to see in action.

FWIW (basically nothing!), my friend went home to Alabama for Thanksgiving and said she basically only saw Doug Jones signs in every neighborhood she drove through, including very Republican suburbs.

McConnell would need to get the entire Democratic caucus on board to expel Moore, plus 19 Republicans.

48 Democrats/Independents + Collins, Murkowski, Gardner, Flake, McCain is 53. Corker might vote to expel, perhaps even Heller which would bring it to 55 votes. Shelby came out against Moore, so that is a possible 56th vote. Toomey. Portman and Ernst are possibilities, but unreliable ones but let's add them for arguments same for 59. And if McConnell really wants him gone, that is 60 votes. Those last 7 votes are where things could get tough.
There are a bunch of low-profile, generally very conservative, leadership allies from safe states who will probably vote with McConnell if he moves to expel.

Interesting findings from the poll:
Republicans who have defected to Jones are 2/3 female and nearly half aged 44 or younger. Without their support, Jones would trail in every likely voter scenario.

Also that 38% of the Republicans who are for Jones say they could still change their minds. This compares to 17% of Republicans for Moore who say they could change their minds.
