Who's right is it to stop someone from doing what they damn well please in the comfort of their room?(that doesn't harm anyone else)

Calling it a "public menace" and a "public health crisis" does not indicate that they want to ban pornography in the privacy of one's home (an area that does not fall within the scope of "public").

Likely, given the word "public," the Republicans are simply trying to limit access to pornography in public areas, such as libraries, cafes, and movie theaters.

If it were even possible to ban pornography in private areas, then our government would have done so in the past (they banned alcohol at one time). That they never banned pornography suggests that it cannot be done; the First Amendment protects it.
Or it suggests the people opposed to porn are actually watching it.

And just this minute, they adopted the following amendment change:

"Children raised in a traditional two-parent household tend to be physically and emotionally healthier, less likely to use drugs and alcohol, engage in crime or become pregnant outside of marriage"

So much for trying not to further alienate minorities
Well children do better in a two-parent household than a single-parent household.
You're overlooking what they mean by "traditional".

Also, I wonder what groups of people in particular that line targets.
