That same article also listed Gov. Sandoval as a potential running mate, but Trump was too upset that he had endorsed Kasich.


Then goes around picking an Indiana Gov. that endorsed Cruz.

Kasich would have been an odd choice as well, but he was Trump's perfect pick. There were few good picks that would look good with Trump, but the article particularly listed the Kasich endorsement as a disqualifier.
