Please no. I will bet against both you and Missy Elliott. What makes you think this will happen or be a good idea? Stick to your technocratic roots, Timmy!

Technocracy is dead in the Democrats. The GOP in the ruins of Trump and as boomers die off en mass will become more technocratic. Millennial Democrats are hardcore Bernouts bro. Democrats are done being the technocratic Party. I have to find my own way.

It’s also worth noting that demographics are destiny. And I, a middle class white male anglo Saxon Protestant, am demographically predisposed to become a Republican. It is my destiny.

It's easy to see how in this context a Walker/Rubio/Cruz (pre-Trump when he was pro-TPP and pro-legal status) nominee losing the election to Hillary would've resulted in the GOP entering a catatonic state forcing them to become more technocratic & accommodating in 2020, but it's impossible to see that happening w/ a 'normal republican' winning, The GOP would have had no incentive to dump their anti-technocratic strategy that would've been as successful for them as it was for Bush in 2000.
