Devastating.  The heroic maroon avatar strikes again.  How will the anti-populists ever recover?

Buddy, you're in meltdown over the fact that the Democratic Party is finally growing a spine and standing for something other than "we're less bad than the other guys". If you think having a Democratic Party with a backbone is the worst thing that could happen to anything ever, you've not been paying attention to the world.

This isn't Chapo Trap House, you can't just win an argument by labeling your opponent as "spineless" or "having a meltdown" or "not paying attention" whatever other insult you think up.

Pretty typical of socialists to ignore the actual argument and just spam insults.  Reminds me of Trump.

You're lecturing me about ignoring an argument?

The Democrats have been caving to everything, and I find it more than a little disturbing that a lot of Democrats voted to extend the Patriot Act. Several of them, including the supposed saviour Biden, voted to repeal Glass-Steagall and to invade Iraq. Then there was the borderline toothless Dodd-Frank bill, and the one thing it actually did was to create the CFPB.

Then again, I imagine Dodd-Frank was socialism to you.

And mate, you are melting down over Warren having a serious shot at the nomination. Honestly, I'm ready to believe you'd vote for Trump instead of Warren or Sanders.

As a side note, Warren's merch game is on point:

More (opinion piece) 1% hand-wringing about the "dangers of Warren" over at the NYT:

The Danger of Elizabeth Warren.

I'm already a Warren supporter, but the MSM makes her and Sanders look better every day.

At what point are these people going to realise that these are the exact type of stories that Sanders and Warren want?

Warren down to 12% in MC Early State Polls (Biden 25%, Bernie 20% Pete 13%). She is now 4th. Nationally she has fallen to 15% but the Early State numbers have fallen much more dramatically & are ominous. While Warren falls 6% in Early States, Pete gets 5%.

Personally I think the fall is likely much more bigger in Iowa & NH with Pete probably gaining 10-12% in both @ the expense of Warren given Pete's poor numbers in NV or SC.

She really has to turn it around soon, possibly ace the next debates.

We're still two months from the first votes.  Most voters are only now starting to pay attention, and I suspect Buttigieg is just the flavor of moment.  If his surge ends, all those wine-track voters will likely move back into the Warren column.

Problem is that Buttigieg hasn't really been scrutinised at all because the media adores him.

What's Warren's path after losing IA, NH, NV, and SC? Her campaign's best hope is to somehow pull out NH, which I doubt happens if she comes in third in Iowa. If she can't do that, though, she probably loses every Super Tuesday state besides Massachusetts. It's conceivable she wins Maine, but beyond that I don't think she has a good shot in any other states. If she doesn't win either of the first two contests I think her campaign is over.

Her campaign rested on stealing Sanders' thunder, which was always going to be a tall order. That plainly hasn't happened.

When Warren talks about her own struggles in her past and compares them to what people are going through in present day America is when she is at her strongest. That's what she needs to communicate more if she wants to broaden her support beyond white college educated liberals.

This is the big one. Having gone and read A Fighting Chance and This Fight Is Our Fight, i'm surprised she'snot highlighting her biography. You could nearly make a movie out of it.

The only shocking development is that some Bernie bros actually waited till now to declare their "disappointment" about Warren and didn't do it the moment she had the gall to announce she'd run against their God King Emperor.

I could say the same. Except replace Warren with Sanders and Sanders with Clinton.

I wouldn't know since I never liked Sanders much to begin with.

Well he did commit the unforgivable sin of having the sheer GALL to run against Hillary Clinton.

See, heres the issue. It was apparent by April of 2016 that Sanders had no chance of winning. Yet the attacks from him and his camp continued(some of which were far worse than this current drama) well into June.  I'm not going to rehash the entirety of the 2016 primary, but theres a reason alot of the current outrage is falling on deaf ears. The first time the Bernie camp gets a taste of its own medicine and you would think Elizabeth Warren put out a literal hit on the guy.

Like seriously, its not the end of the world. Roll with the punches like the way you guys made Hillary and her supporters do or get out of the kitchen and let someone with thicker skin take over.

Rehashing the 2016 primary is the only interest of Clinton supporters at this point because Sanders had the sheer nerve to run for President.

Also, since we're equal-opportunity, Clinton should've dropped out when it was apparent that she'd lost in 2008, but instead she made a pretty disgusting comment about Robert Kennedy and seemed to imply that Obama might be assassinated.

Of course, we don't hear about that because the Atlas hatred for Sanders borders on psychotic.

So now all the Bernie Sanders supporters have decided that they no longer like the only other candidate besides Sanders who supports a wealth tax etc, and if they can't have Bernie, they would rather have the guy (Biden) that just 24 hours ago many of the same people were attacking for his willingness to cut social security and his vote in favor of the Iraq war.

Doesn't really make sense from a policy perspective, but interesting change of perspective, I guess...
If you take her word for it, sure. Why should you?

The real question is that regardless of what was said in some conversation 1 year ago, why do you care? What does any of this have to do with the policies supported by either Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren?

If you want to make your choice of who to support based on things other than policy, then fine. There are some legitimate reasons to support/oppose candidates that are not directly based on policy. But if so, then one should say (or at least be honest with oneself) that one doesn't vote based on policy, and doesn't prioritize progressive policy positions above other aims.
"Progressive policy positions" mean very little when there is no reason to believe a candidate is embracing them sincerely, or intends to follow through when in office.

Warren’s been supporting these policies since she entered public life. Bernie wanted her to run 4 years ago and deferred to her. Questioning her sincerity is being done out of spite and anger at her perceived slight against Bernie.

Warren's completely sincere?

Why did she waffle on Medicare for All?

So you guys are going to vote for that neoliberal clown against Warren because she accused Bernie of saying something that they, he probably actually said? God I hate this country!

Tough sh**t. At least your friends and family aren't being treated like trash and denied disaster aid because this administration is downright vile and inhuman (e.g. Maria in 2017 and earthquakes in Puerto Rico right now).

Worse of all, they're stuck in second grade citizen status. At least you get to vote, and politicians (read: Republicans in this case) have to at least pretend like they care.

You say that you hate this country, and you haven't felt its heel down your throat quite just yet.

Work to make it better. Your current rhetoric isn't helping to that end.

Neither is the borderline psychotic hatred of Sanders about half the Democrats on this forum have.

Hotmic moment pretty much proves Warren was telling the the truth. She was indignant and Bernie was stammering and acting like he didn't know what time it was.

 Go Liz, Go.

Or he was hurt that his friend would smear him like this, but go off.
It’s always everyone else, never Bernie. Y’all never hold this 80 year old man accountable for anything ever.

I can't hold him accountable for telling his truth.  He's disputing a verifiable liar.

I can hold Warren accountable for rejecting Bernie's handshake.  It's low class.  Being called a liar is not an excuse.  If that's the way she's going to conduct herself, she might as well go back to being Dr. Phil's Financial guru.
Yall loved her not too long ago now she’s this pathological liar. Meanwhile Bernie has been lying to voters for five years that he could break up banks, eliminate student loan debt, and throw 140 million people off their insurance if he holds enough rallies in Louisville, Kentucky. A mess.

When a Democrat regurgitates Republican talking points, something is wrong.
