Hacksaw Ridge is easily my favorite film of the year so far.
That is actually the first movie aside from the annual Dead show that I will see this entire year in the theaters. I'm really excited about that.
Watched Sausage Party on Popcorn Time the other day. It was an abortion. It was literally the type of movie my five year cousin Abby would watch, besides the lesbian taco and the gratuitous use of the F-word.
Hacksaw Ridge was absolutely terrific. I had some doubts about the casting at first.
Andrew Garfield: Didn't really like him in The Amazing Spiderman. Thought his acting was a bit wooden.
Vince Vaughn: Mixed record. For some ungodly reason, I associate him most with that Godawful Psycho remake. Overall, never really too impressed with him.
Luke Bracey: Home and Away. Need I say more?
Teresa Palmer: Local girl to Adelaide; I actually met her a few times before she got famous. Always been rather impressed with her; going all the way back to her first film 2:37.
Sam Worthington: Always been impressed with the guy. Was fantastic in Deadline Gallipoli (I actually played an extra in that)
That said, I was blown away with how well they performed in this film. Garfield and Vaughn in particular blew me away; both were absolutely fantastic in this film. Luke Bracey did extremely well too; hopefully this nets him some exposure in the US.
I loved the film. One of my all-time favourites.
