Since there's been an influx of threads about kids shows, why not. I don't think there's ever been a TV host, or even really any kids show, that was so successful at reaching a broad audience than Mr. Rogers. Jim Henson may or may not take this category instead and he definitely rivals Rogers, but as far as presenters there's really no contest. And it was also Rogers who helped secure funding for PBS.
Fun fact: Rogers was a Presbyterian minister, but his technique was acting Christ-like instead of preaching specific doctrine to a national audience. Fox News didn't really like that. But he was clean in all areas of his life.
