Doesn't matter if their vote; President Trump and a Republican Senate, causes Roe's demise. They might as well oppose it.
The GOP doesn't care what the majority supports or opposes. They know that their partisan voters will show up for them no matter what they do, so they'll proceed with a SCOTUS candidate that's anti-Roe v. Wade if that's their prerogative.
The only SCOTUS judge who's explicitly anti-
Roe is Thomas. Even Alito has acknowledged it as precedent.
That doesn't mean legal abortion rights are safe with the next judge (and in most red states, access to abortion is practically nonexistent), but the judges are not idiots. Roberts knows full well the political ramifications of overturning a popular precedent, and I doubt he wants to further compromise the image of the court by opening that can of worms.
