She's against eliminating public funding for abortions, too.

I wouldn't vote for FN, but it really pales in comparison to the GOP here in terms of ideological craziness.

     Comparing parties across countries is inherently misleading. The political realities in the US and in France differ too much.

France's Overton Window is quite obviously to the left of the United States', but it's still interesting to me how public funding of abortions is practically a non-issue in France whereas here it's such a contentious subject that most Democrats won't even touch it.

Obviously that's in large part a cultural discrepancy, but few right-wing politicians in Western Europe pursue the same degree of austerity and mass privatization than American ones do, especially on the basis of Randian-type arguments or religious values (the latter of course being thanks to the weakened influence of the Church in those countries).
