Pardon me for not understanding - I have yet to thoroughly read all the bills - but I don't really see the urgency to combine them.  All the statutes fit under our military policy.  If you'd like, perhaps we can incorporate them into a single Wiki page, but I think our housekeeping in this respect is fine.  The only problem I see with this is that the last two bills look redundant.

Nix what I said about The Valkyrtweed Act.  I skimmed through it and caught "The entire IDS Militia shall be activated," which obviously would be redundant if it were on its own. Tongue  (Don't worry, I'll get to reading each of these bills soon.)

If you'd like, I can introduce a repeal bill for the IDs Militia Structure Act at some point, but I'd like others to comment here first.  I don't want to be the only legislator who gives a damn.

On another subject, is anyone familiar with this flag?

It was the flag of our region in 2005, apparently.  I personally prefer it to our current one by a lot. Tongue

We could also simply create a new wiki category and organize them that way...

Sorry to keep shifting the spotlight, but is the federal or regional government still deciding whether to approve the Keystone XL pipeline, or was that already settled?  I would like to work on energy policy at some point in my term, seeing as how we have almost nothing that can be considered a framework for us to base new energy legislation (with the exception of the nuclear power bills SJoyce helped us enact.)  My understanding is that part of the pipeline runs down through Texas and connects to Louisiana.  I'm personally in favor of allowing construction of the pipeline to continue, so maybe that's something I can include in my draft.  That is, of course, if the Feds are willing to let this proceed.

If anyone else has ideas, let me know.  It's important that our region get a set of rules to go by, similar to what we have for our militia imitative.  If we don't have a canvas to go on, we can't effectively enforce federal laws and the region won't have any autonomy over how we balance these priorities.

Ugh, okay, the Ambien is kicking in and the last two paragraphs probably make no sense.  My eyesight's going too.  I'll pick this up tomorrow.

How do we feel about overhauling our R&P?  As a Rep, I've noticed that the Legislature tends to interpret these rules very loosely.  For example, we frequently use the third slot for regular legislation instead of emergencies and budgets.  Having two slots is rather inefficient and slows down the Legislature, but I'd rather follow the rules honestly and amend them so that they conform to traditional procedure.

One of the things I mentioned in campaigning was greater legislative flexibility. I agree that more activity is useful, but I am also concerned about us running out of things to discuss. How about we start with two slots and open up additional ones depending on how many bills there are in the queue?

Sure.  Perhaps we could either include a quota or leave the third slot to the discretion of the Speaker.
