That's fine, but the fact that McCaskill is behind Rob Portman on this issue is a little bit disheartening i'm sure for Democrats, but I think this is a part of a tidal wave that is coming.
And it's not just that. Not only is she behind Portman on the issue, she's also flagrantly doing it for political benefit, rather than for some deep, personal realignment.
She's in Missouri, what political benefit is she going to get?
It could help her with the Senate Democrats, potentially. A leadership position, maybe?
I don't think this will hurt her in 2018, though. She probably supported it for a while but chose to wait until after the election to make it public.
