I thought Chabot would win b/c I don't see a normal republican like DeWine losing OH-1. But with negative campaigning like this(which voters seem to dislike) and a strong candidate in Aftab Pureval, it may flip regardless of whether Brown and/or Cordray win this district or not.

Suburban areas will trend D here b/c of the racist posting. Obviously trump's base wont care but this is the kind of district that people will get turned off by things such as this.

Chabot probaby squeaks by, but Aftab also has a good chance. Very close finish.

Yet another casualty of the right-wing media.

My question is why the hell isn't the DCCC or some similar group running a bunch of nasty attack ads of their own? Chabot has possible campaign finance violations that really sound like some shady stuff; it would be be so easy to blast him on that stuff. I hope they start doing it in the last month before the election. If not, they didn't leave it all on the field. Connie Pillich already laid the groundwork by filing an FEC complaint; time for Democrats to follow through.

Running attack ads against Republicans is too uncivil and coastal elitist. Remember, when they go low, we go high. Smiley
YOU CALLED US DEPLORABLE! MUH COASTAL ELITISM!

Pet candidate debate over analyzing incoming!

Just left the Harbaugh-Gibbs debate. Harbaugh spent most of the debate hammering Gibbs on pre-existing conditions while Gibbs gave statistics at about 200 MPH. I guess they where supposed to suggest the economy is doing good but there where some parts where I really couldn't understand him. Gibbs just isn't a great public speaker, which is understandable. The left wing of the audience was very rowdy throughout, which of course led to the climax of the night, when Gibbs told Harbaugh to "keep his constituents under control" (paraphrase) and Harbaugh responded with "They're your constituents too." Harbaugh also hit Gibbs on jokingly comparing his service in Congress to military service. Harbaugh was indirect at sometimes though, but his ability as a debater and Gibbs' inability as a public speaker should make this a no brainer who """won""" the debate.

Despite Harbaugh being a great guy, great candidate, and having a very good performance tonight, I still expect him to lose by high single digits. I really hope he dosen't stop in November though. If he was in say OH-16 then it would be a tossup, if Hagan was the R then maybe even lean or likely d at this point. He has a future in Columbus and I'm hoping even beyond.
Why is Christina Hagan such a bad candidate?
