Nevada Gubernatorial Race (500 Likely Voters):

Jim Gibson (D): 42%
Jim Gibbons (R): 39%

Jim Gibbons (R): 45%
Dina Titus (D): 39%

MOE is +-4.5%.

Jim Gibbons is the Republican congressman from NV-01. Gibson is the mayor of Henderson, NV and is known as a very conservative Democrat. Titus is the more traditionally Democratic minority leader of the State Senate.

That's good to hear.  Gibbons is a nutjob.

Didn't he make some nutty remarks about using "liberals" as human shields in Iraq?

But if Gibbons runs it looks probable his district will stay GOP (it voted for Bush by 16%), but there is slight pickup potential there.

Isn't Gibbons' district in southern Nevada??? I thought that Kerry won the whole southern part of the state?

I double-checked.  It's northern, rural Nevada.

That's what I thought. That part of the state is very conservative.
