I'd vote yes on all four.

Issue 2 is important, because of all the voter suppression in the 2004 race. Oregon uses mail-in ballots and supposedly they have some of the smoothest elections and least amount of complaints of any state in the country. I definitely hope that Issue 2 (as well as the other three) all pass.

Surely you have heard about how there were very few voting machines in the urban areas/college towns and people had to wait up to 10 hours to vote?  This has been pretty well documented.

That's irrelevant to Issue 2, and more relevant to Issue 5.

I think it's relevant to both. Letting people mail their ballots will help thwart any voter suppression attempts.

I think you make a good point, Joe and I could definitely understand why you'd want to vote against this.

I just know that mail-in ballots have worked very well in the state or Oregon and they haven't had any problems with it.

But I definitely share your view that Issue 5 passing would alleviate many of the problems.

It's really too bad, as these amendments really could've helped clean up the state.

Looks like we will have another messy election in Ohio in 2008 to look forward to.

I have no idea what Ohio voters were thinking. Maybe they didn't understand the amendments?

Now this is a redistricting proposal I'm pleased to see fail (unlike California...)

Why?

Huh? Ohio is already incredibly gerrymandered and this proposal would've made the districts less gerrymandered and more competitive.
