Most popular Senators are Snowe, Collins, Obama, Dorgan, and Conrad/McCain. Least popular Senators are Voinovich, DeWine, Martinez, Coburn and Santorum.

Possibly vulnerable incumbent Republicans in 2006:

Jim Talent  48/39
Conrad Burns  48/42
Mike DeWine  42/43
Rick Santorum: 42/46

Possibly vulnerable incumbent Democrats in 2006:

Conrad surprises me. I thought he was ready to be out in 2006. He's running against the popular governor up there(I presume; can't remember his name right now).

I don't think Governor Hoeven has announced his intentions to run.

Why do senators have such higher approval ratings when compared to Governors?

Because they're not in the spotlight and regular residents in these states probably can't tell you a damn thing about them unless there's a scandal.

Senators Snowe, Collins, Chaffee, and Ben Nelson all poll better with the opposite party than their own.

Santorum is now the least popular Senator in the US.  What happend that could have made him bottom out so quick?

He's been the least popular Senator for a couple months now. Don't let Keystone Phil fool you.
