I'm so very sorry for my sanity and the sanity of this country that we have ever had the misfortune to have Trump in our faces for such a long time.

He is the most negative person I have ever heard of who isn't currently in prison.

I hope he is serving as a role model for what NOT to be like for all members of society. Let's get rid of the sexism, the homophobia, the hatred, the anti-everything that Trump stands for, and let's come together in unity to solve our country's problems.

This is no time to go nuclear except to solve our problems and to keep our country great and moving forward, not backward where Trump would have us go.

How is it appropriate to attack a candidates spouse?  Especially over something which has no significance to the election?

Has anyone been attacking Trump's wife for his indiscretions?

could be because i am too young and obviiously not an american but i am pretty sure that bill is a sexist and maybe a rapist....no compromises here.

He's neither.  Clinton passed the Violence Against Women Act and appointed a bunch of female cabinet members (first female AG, SoS).  He pushed, unsuccessfully, for the Paycheck Fairness Act.  He started the Disadvantaged Businesses Enterprise to help small businesses owned by women.

Other than a few extremists, nobody here in the United States thought Bill Clinton was a rapist before the Trump crowd started promoting the idea earlier this year.  People picked on the Clintons because Bill was presumed to be cheating on Hillary.  But that's an entirely separate (and private) matter from being a rapist.  There were polls that came out at the time, only 34% of Americans believed the rape story in 1999.  When you consider that the atmosphere then was just as politically charged and divided as today, so obviously the hardcore Republicans were going to say yes no matter what, you basically get that nobody in the center or left and even many on the right did not believe that he was a rapist.

But now we've had 15 years to totally forget that the media spent years investigating these stories and determining that they were fake.  Now all that's left is "oh some women accused Clinton of rape once and nothing came of it" without remembering why.  So Trump, who made a very strong statement in support of Clinton at the time, is now able to dig them up and present them as somehow new information or act on the assumption that Bill is a rapist, and the entire right-wing media machine will support him on this, and suddenly you have a new reality.

Bill Clinton is not a rapist.  Most people in America never thought he was a rapist.  At the time the rape allegations were made against him, it was fairly obvious that they were false from the way the story was evolving (women changing their stories, or being obviously aligned with right-wing hit groups, etc.) and the only people who believed them were the kind of hardcore partisans who'd believe Bill Clinton was actually possessed by a devil if the right-wing media told them so.  In the intervening years, nobody ever accused him of rape and even the partisans forgot that they were supposed to believe he was a rapist.  If you'd polled Americans in late 2014 about whether Bill Clinton was a rapist, you'd have gotten results like 20-25%, just the real core of Clinton-haters who'd answer yes out of spite.

Thank you Lyin' Steve for that wonderful, clear post. We do need to keep things in perspective because Trump simply lies for his convenience, and that is not the right thing to do. But then, when does he ever do the right thing?

Both Bill Clinton and Donald Trump have plenty of people who accuse them of sexual assault. Trump has 12, Clinton has three primary non-consensual allegations.

What are your opinions, especially those who are big Clinton or Trump defenders, about the legitimacy of these claims, whether we should give credence and confirmation to these claims, whether we should believe them and whether Clinton Democrats and Trump Republicans have fairly treated their claims.

Neither man has been indicted, tried, or convicted of non-consensual sexual relations.

Also, do you think Trump's attacks on Clinton's sexual past be politically effective?

Please keep in mind that Bill Clinton is NOT running for President and should not be compared with Donald Trump.

Hillary is the one running for President and you should be comparing Trump to her.

And if you compare sexcapades, there is no comparison. Hillary has been faithful for 40 years to the first and only man she married. You can infer from that, that she is stable, and that she knows how to forgive, and that she knows how to move forward in life.

Don't get distracted by Trump's distorted tactics.

Also there is no evidence that Hillary went after the women who accused Bill Clinton of infidelity. She said one phrase (not much of a resume to fall back on) about Gennifer Flowers and later another of Monica Lewinsky (neurotic) which was said as part of a private conversation and later became public.

Here's a good "reality check" article about Hillary's actions back then:

http://www.cnn.com/2016/10/11/politics/hillary-clinton-donald-trump-bill-clinton-accusers/index.html

Something else, people love to attack Hillary for everything she does, but I guarantee you that inside a relationship, people do all sorts of things to protect their investment, so to speak. If Hillary lashed out in any way, at least it's a human thing to do.

If she didn't get upset or angry about Bill's alleged affairs or sexcapades with other females, people would be calling her a robot. It's always the situation Hillary finds herself in, she can't do anything right. Well phooey on that. Hillary has to live her personal life as she feels is necessary. Nobody has a right to second guess her inside her personal relationship.

We all have our foibles and weaknesses and issues. Hillary is no different from any of us in that regard.
