What's the point to judicial review?

Some have argued that Congress should not be able to make exceptions and regulations concerning judicial review, because it defeats the entire purpose to it.

Well, Congress can just raise the number of justices on the Supreme Court to get what it wants anyway.

So what's the difference?

No, they don't appoint justices, but the president does, and his approval is required to make a law, so either way you just need the support of both elected branches.

Unless there are supermajorities in Congress willing to override a veto.
