Could Carl Bible be a possible spoiler and siphon votes from Ted Cruz?

Wouldn't that be perfect?

O'Rourke will win, possibly by a comfortable margin. Goodbye, Sweaty Teddy.

Must be pretty bad when they had to get Trump to give his kiss of death:

Does anyone else find the tweets that are clearly written by a soulless staffer trying to imitate Trump’s style, but still attempting to do meet and potatoes politics incredibly sad?

These interns and/or staffers knew what they were signing up for.

Even for me, an enlightened poster who already knows that O'Rourke will win, these numbers are pretty stunning.

Isn't this Cruz's old outfit? Like they're going to come up with anything less than a double-digit Cruz lead, lol.

Hot take: TX is more likely to flip at this point than OH or WI, especially the latter.

Interesting

Beto calls for Trump's impeachment after Putin Summit

http://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/397469-cruz-challenger-calls-for-trumps-impeachment-over-putin-summit

Wonder what hes playing at? My guess is raising his statewide recognition.

And this is why O'Rourke is not going to win this year. Calling for impeachment over this is frivolous. What Trump said was wrong, and was rightly condemned, but his words do not rise to the standard necessary for impeachment.

Are you aware of how ambiguous the standard for impeachment actually is, or are you just talking out of your ass?

It's telling that Cruz now wants debates, though.

How will new Ted Cruz ad play in Texas:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-MdlR9R4Zs

Will it work to soften his image a bit ... or be seen as sort of using the Hurricane for political gain?

Wow, he's flailing. Trying to negatively define O'Rourke didn't (o')work, so now he's done a 180.

If O'Rourke ends up doing very well this year I certainly hope he stays active in TX politics and runs for something else in the future. He'd actually have accomplished what countless overhyped TX Dems have failed at.

I could see him taking the Kander route and becoming a nationalized #resistance hero, which would hamper any future runs at statewide office.

My post was a thinly-veiled attempt to distract from Cruz's impending 40-point landslide. Thanks for the assist, Calthrina.

https://www.politico.com/story/2018/09/09/ted-cruz-reelection-trump-813354

Interesting piece from Politico about the scramble to save Cruz
Not much new information though. The title is a bit clickbaity. Basically, GOP groups are freaking out about being outspent so much, and the master strategy seems to be to deploy Trump and Sen. Cornyn as much as possible in October.

Heavy retail campaigning from Cornyn could hurt O'Rourke, given his popularity. But, as Politico pointed out, Cruz wouldn't even endorse his fellow senator in 2014, so maybe there's a way to separate the two senators in the minds of voters.

Trump will be Trump. We'll be reminded that Cruz is strong on borders, vets and draining the swamp, while O'Rourke will let in the scary foreigners, legalise crime and side with MS13. A unique message tailored to the race (lol). I can't imagine it will change too many minds.

This "scramble" should have been happening months ago. Sucks for them.

That feels comfortably above the benchmark a Democrat would need in TX-07 for a statewide win.

I feel your pain.  I will not tell you how it makes me feel.

I will give you some feel good information.  Here is an article that sets out some views that Beto can still be President, even if loses to Cruz.

https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2018/10/11/beto-orourke-profiles-ted-cruz-vanity-fair-buzzfeed-gq-221304

I have one question.  Why did he become Beto?  Why did he not remain Irish rather than trying to become an Hispanic? Could he not have been as youthful, energetic, and charismatic as Bob as opposed to the made up Beto?  It is hard being someone you are not.

Because he called himself Beto several decades before he thought about running for office? He's not trying to become Hispanic (have you seen the results of the 2016 primary?)

This has been explained to AY several times, yet he is still unable to grasp this concept
