Can't get around the WSJ paywall, but this sounds like Devine v Weaver.

Devine was always the ambassador to the establishment, anyway. I doubt he'll win on this.

If he is promised in writing that 1) the democrats will not attempt to cancel the official convention roll call vote in whole or in part, and 2) the democrats will not simply take away all of his convention committee posts as soon as he is no longer a candidate, then I think he would concede. But if people are taking a "BERNIE DESERVES NOTHING!" attitude, he'll stay in.

Ya know, a lot of us younguns disliked the Democratic party as it is to begin with.

Or at least had limited illusions.

And frankly? It deserves what it gets.

Also, Mr. Steve, you're allegedly an Independent? So why do you care? Presumably you dislike the party already?

All I'll say is this, I've already done my fighting....a lifetime of it. It's your turn now; I've retired. If you don't like the system then you do what you have to do to change it. I'm not real worried about any of the things your post is implying. It's time for me to hand over the mantle to you. Go for it. I'll be watching from my easy chair. ;-)

You actually don't care about the rich controlling government?

Like what, you think that we should all just go live in 13th century Venice or something?

So what you're retired? I've met more hardbitten grannies for Sanders than anyone else.
Hell, most figures of actual power in this country are old.

I know someone who is fairly well off, in their 80s, a POC, and female, and voted for Bernie in the primary. You can't always assume how someone will vote from their demographics.

Okay, I realize I misread "I've" to be "I'm."

But I'm still not assuming anything. Just taking Hermit at Hermit's word.

...to make it over in an outsider's image.

And you're right. I do have a very low opinion of the current class of insiders.
