How can people see the contrast in character between these two men and still be undecided?
Because there is a large part of the population who see Trump as a force of nature send by God to avenge them by destroying all these people and institutions who keep them down: liberals, intellectuals, minorities, East Coast elites, the DC swamp, etc.
For them his character is a feature, not a bug.
The funny thing here of course is that Trump himself belongs to the "East Coast Elite".
Back in 2018 when atheist redditors worshiped elon like a God, they would have wanted that guy dead but now since Elon have revealed quite a quite right-wing stance they love and support him
So they don't truly hate east coast elites or really elites in general, they just hate the smug leftists east coast elites.
