I've got a minor headache right now, but it's only a Tourettes induced headache.  This is the first headache I've had since late last week.  It's a grade 4 right now.  I may take some medicine in a little while just to prevent it from escalating, but it's been a relatively pain-free weekend.

It's halftime of the Bears vs. Jets game.  A pretty entertaining game.  I will finish the game and then go to bed right around 2300 tonight.

Morden, I've watched probably 12-15 hours since Thursday.  With this situation, football has been my release mechanism.

Besides my alma mater, the last football game I've attended was a University of Oklahoma game back in the late 80's/early 90's when Cale Gundy was at QB.  I have never attended an NFL game.  I've attended two Oklahoma City Thunder NBA games and one New York Mets MLB game, and a couple of minor league baseball games.

It was July 15, 2007 at the old Shea Stadium.  The game was against the Cincinnati Reds.  I was working at a computer camp at Rosemont College near Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.

I've eaten at BWW twice in the fall of 2013.  I'm not too thrilled with their food,  to be honest.  I don't like wings generally, so I was only able to get a cheeseburger there both times and felt I've had better burgers.  I only went because the church men's group met there for dinner and football while the ladies had a Bible Study.  It's not a place I would go on my own.

What the hell is Bible Study?

Bible Study can come in different forms.  One can either study the Bible on their own or, as these ladies were doing, studying the Bible together.  The Bible is more than just a good book.  It is the how-to book on life.  It is God's written, holy, and infallible Word to man.  It is to be studied, not just read like a John Grisham novel.

As for #1, of course they're allowed to study the Bible together and they often do, but sometimes the ladies like to discuss lady things and guys like to discuss guy stuff.

For #2.  I find that the best seat in the house is in front of my TV, plus parking and traffic at a sports venue is a nightmare.

#3.  Medium well to well done meat.  I like mustard, pickles, and lettuce on my burgers.

What the hell are "lady things" and "guy stuff" in relation to content in the Bible?  I suppose guy stuff would be "Things To Do Besides Masturbate" and lady things could involve things like "At What Point Would Jesus Be Okay With Calling 911?".

Lady things and guy stuff are talking about life's issues and getting into the Bible to see what God says about those issues.  It is also to encourage each other, laugh with each other, cry with each other, and even lovingly correct one another if needed.  There are certain things that men talk about that need to kept among men and not shared in a coed group.  The same goes with the ladies.

How would one go about studying the bible?  Highlighters?  Index Cards?  Giving each other quizzes on who said certain things??

Opening the Bible, reading it, talking about it, and see how it applies to life today.  It's very easy to apply the Bible to today's generation and today's society because the Bible is full of timeless directives, commands, truths, and promises.

Matt, why are you making it seem like the term "loving on" kids is kin to what a pedophile does?  It is not a creepy term and is a normal term used by many, many people.  No one should ever take it as a creepy term, because it's never meant in that way.

I will go ahead and share my news if you all can promise it will not get back to Facebook.

My uncle (Dad's youngest brother) was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer back in March and we were told to prepare.  He got really sick last week and was put in the hospital having almost lost him several times.  I got down here Thursday night for my lab appointment and was able to talk to him over the phone that night.  Then, Friday he was rushed back to the hospital and was put in hospice by the evening.  I was able to go up and see him Friday night and watched him eat what would be his last meal.  He was about to be released to home hospice Saturday morning when he got to coughing violently and was hanging on to a hospital bed meal tray to get up when the tray rolled out from underneath him and caused him to fall hard.  They got him back in bed and had to put him on morphine.  He passed away Sunday at 3:45 pm.  The funeral is tomorrow at 10:00 am and they have asked me to be a pallbearer.  So, I am down at my parents house tonight for the funeral tomorrow and then will head back to Tulsa so I can go back to work Thursday.  Because of the day off tomorrow, I'll likely work after my doctors appointment Friday.  I know he was a Christian, so I know I'll see him in heaven, but he was a young guy, only 55 years old.

Am I not allowed to go to a funeral of my uncle without you questioning my job status?

Grumps, even as a new employee, I am allowed to go to the doctor and I am allowed to go to the funeral for a very close family member.  I've already told you my boss told me not to come in last Friday.  I offered to come in after my appointment.  So, that absence is not on me.  I didn't plan my uncle's death.  They asked me to be a pallbearer, so what am I supposed to do, flip them the bird and not come down?  I asked my boss Sunday evening and he actually gave me all week off to grieve.  I went to work a day and a half and will go tomorrow even when I could miss without trouble.  Do not accuse me of abandoning my job.

I guess you don't care one bit that I just lost someone very close to me.  Your attitude is that I should deny their request and stay home.

Sorry to hear about your aunt.  I'm positive my uncle's cancer was caused by years of smoking.  Thankfully, I will have five other strong guys helping me out.  I'll make sure I'm in the middle so the ends can be held up.  Plus, it's not very far.

Thanks, Inks.

Eraser, he gave me the entire week if I needed it, but I told him I would come back the day after the funeral which would be Thursday.  I will bring him a remembrance pamphlet so he can document it if he needs.  I worked yesterday, half of today and I'll work Thursday and the second half of Friday, then I'll get back to my regular personal routine Friday evening and then back to my regular work routine on Monday.

Thank you, everyone, for your kind words and condolences.  It means a lot to me.  He was my favorite uncle on my dad's side and always had an upbeat spirit right up to the very end.  He never let anything get him down.  He did not lose his battle, as a child of God, he won the fight and is now home in heaven, cancer-free!

I am looking forward to getting back to normal very soon.  A normal that I don't have to worry about my uncle.

Memphis, I've known several, all coworkers at various places.  I don't have any friends who are gay, but I've worked with several.

King, I'll go back to work on Thursday and get back to the grind.  I'm not worried.  Things went really well last week so I have no real reason to be worried.  If the worst happens then I have no regrets and I have a job prospect in Oklahoma City should I need to activate it.  It would be another CAD job.

I've never known you to be worried a day in your life, Bushie.

That's why I'm worried.

I'm just not a worrier.  I can't do anything but harm by worrying.  Worrying takes time off my life, I'm not going to fall into that trap.  I have too much faith in God's ability to take care of me regardless of the circumstance.

Hi, guys, I made it home to Tulsa.  We had a family dinner after the service, so I didn't start home until 1345.  I got home about 1530.  It was a good and fitting service.

I'm hearing what you guys are saying.  It is odd for a new employee to get a week off for a non-immediate family member.  My aunt told me to thank my boss for letting me off for the funeral and to grieve properly.  It meant a lot to her for me to come down and help carry the casket.  Even though he gave me the week off, I did help my cause by going into work anyway for all of Monday, half of Tuesday and I will keep my promise to him to return the day after the funeral, which would be Thursday.  I had planned to take Friday off, but since I was off today, I will work the second half of the day on Friday.  I should get back to work by 1230 and will work until 1600.  It's only 3 1/2 hours, but that's more on my paycheck.  I will get back to a 40 hour week next week.  If he does let me go at the end of October, then my aunt's brother told me I could apply at his place where they have gobs of positions including CAD work.  I'm not too worried.  Plus, I will go out feeling good about myself.  It's not guaranteed that I will be let go, though, so I'm not going to even act like it.  I'm not going to act defeated, because that will only doom me.  Instead, I'm going to get back to focusing one day at a time and doing the best job that I can.  If that's not enough, then so be it.
