Folks, I think I'm officially sick... I have a developing cough, headache, chills, sneezing, scratchy throat, and stomach ache.  So far no runny nose or temperature.  I just got my flu shot on Friday so that could be trying to take root or another likely scenario is my parents both had colds this past week due to the stress from the funeral and I was around them several nights.  I tried to stay away as much as I could, but it may not have been enough.

thanks, I'll be okay. I'm not feeling terrible right now, just not spectacular.  I'm still very alert and not in a real big fog.  Tomorrow could be a different story, but like I said my schedule is clear after my meeting.

Good Tuesday Morning!  I slept quite well for about 7 1/2 hours.  I woke up about 45 minutes before my alarm and couldn't go back to sleep, so I got up.  I've still got a minor cough, but my main ailment is a sore throat.  I've got the meeting with my boss this morning at 0830.  I'm expecting to be out of there by 0900, but I'll also be prepared to stay the entire day.  I'll just be ready either way.  I'm mentally prepared for either decision.

I'm back home and the meeting went as expected, I am out of a job.  However, he did tell me not to give up on my CAD career, but try to find a larger company who might have more time to work with me and bring me up to speed.  Again, I come out of this the winner and not the loser.  It is time now to find a job as quickly as possible and to get over whatever illness I have.

Sin of pride, Jeff. Sin of pride. Maybe you'll understand that language.

People are encouraging you to learn from the experience, be humble and commit to yourself to improve. You're trying to say your boss lost something ... no, he didn't. You had job duties at which you failed (and yesterday, you admitted in a firmer way than you ever had before as to "boneheaded" mistakes that kept occurring), and you had a boss that determined he could no longer afford those mistakes and the time it was costing him to invest in you.

You're not a good drafter. Not yet. If you were, you wouldn't have failed. You have the POTENTIAL to be a good drafter, but only if you put in the time and effort to do it.

Can you admit that this effort is no one's responsibility but your own? That's the real first step in having a good attitude about this turn of events.

Yes, I screwed up, but I'm not going to act like I lost anything, either.  I may be out of a job, but you only lose if you let yourself be defeated.  I'm not heartbroken about it and I'm not angry at anybody, not my boss and not myself.  I know my abilities.  I hope to get a good CAD job very soon.  You only lose if you let yourself be defeated.  I certainly wasn't defeated this morning.

Anyway, my focus now is not on the firing.  That's in the past and there's nothing I could do about it.  Now, I'm full throttle into the job hunt trying to find the job that fits well with my expertise and skill set.  I've got a good skill set, I just need to put it to use and continue to develop it.  I will get another job, and it will be a good job, perhaps a better job than what I just finished with.

Well, for today, I can tell you that I will be job searching the rest of the afternoon and then I will watch the AL Wild Card game, then spend an hour or so looking at my AutoCAD program.

The thing is I don't know exactly where to start when I "study" my AutoCAD program.  I don't have already created drawings on there, so I can't detail them the way my former employer would like, so I'll be honest, I'm at a loss of where to start.  I can look at it for a couple hours or all day, but I'm not sure how much progress I would actually make.

When I say it will be ending soon, I don't mean anytime in the immediate future.  I believe we are somewhere between 7 and 10 years away.  That's my best guess.  However, the Bible clearly says no one knows the day nor the hour that the Son of man will return, but based on current events especially in Europe and the Middle East, I think we can get an idea.

Since we don't officially know when it's going to end, it is still vital to live life as normal and go out and be a witness to the unbelievers.  Note, in Christianity that is gently, lovingly talking and praying with them.  Parts of Islam is much more forceful and violent to unbelievers.

Fellas, you know the exchange will go nothing like that.  I'm not sure I want to do it as the purpose of the trip is spending time with my aunt and uncle.  Maybe one of these days I'll drive up there and share a meal with him.  I'm close enough to KC being in Tulsa that if I get time I can drive up there.

As far as the cooking, Mom and my Aunt both help Grandma, so really, it's a 3-person effort.  Either my uncle or I helps by putting the ice in the glasses and pouring the tea.  If there's any carving to do (like the turkey at Thanksgiving), Dad always does that with the electric knife.

Yes, indeed, it was late breaking news today after 1600 that was from a gentleman from the company, that I sent my resume to Sunday evening, invited me for an interview either Thursday or Friday.  He asked me to choose the best time.  Since I have a cold, I asked him if we could do it Friday at 1000.  He accepted.  So, that's a very positive development.  I would have put it on here earlier, but I was about to sit down to eat.  I had enough time to put it on Facebook, but not enough time to put it on here, even though I wanted to.  This company is in Edmond, Oklahoma.  So, if I get this, I would have to sublease the apartment in Tulsa and move in with my grandmother until my Tulsa lease expires.
