Update Season X - "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas Vol. I."

Good Wednesday Morning!  I finally went to bed about 1:35 and fell asleep about 2:15 this morning.  On today's agenda is to clear out a spot for the Christmas Tree tomorrow and study for a couple hours.  I've got a family dinner at 17:00 and then church at 18:30.

I did tell you what God told me.  He told me my calling is Kenya.

Yeah, Kenya was never going to happen anyway, Allison just killed the dream off a lot quicker than it would have been otherwise.

Obviously Bushie lied about God speaking to him about it. Oh well. Bushie lies. We know this. He's admitted to being a liar before.

I don't think he lied, per se. He got infatuated with the idea, which Jeff is prone to do, and in the midst of all that emotion, he felt it must have been God saying, "Go! Go! Go!" It's why religious people protest abortion clinics or fly planes into buildings or start Crusades ... their personal emotion is so strong, and to rationalize it, they claim their deity endorsed their feeling, giving it weight in the face of outside skepticism.

It's OK to admit that, Jeff ... that Kenya may have been a short-term fascination that has fallen away to reality. But any such admission would probably mean that any short-term / strong-emotion decision or issue is more a product of your imagination and infatuation than a divine plan.

How's the resume updating coming, by the way? Do you need it reviewed?

I still believe that Kenya is a calling on my life.  I still believe Allison and I will be headed to Kenya in the next few years.  Of course, admittedly, I am less sure of this than I was when I was single.  It could be just a dry spell in my faith.  I, along with all Christians, go through periods where their faith is not as high as at other times.  This evil world will weigh heavily on Christians that our faith goes through these periods of doubt.  That is also human.  I think that's what my faith is going through right now and I'm trying to break out of that train of thought and realize that my God has the perfect plan that will be enacted at the perfect time.  I just have to be willing and open to follow His will and obey.  I have a tough time doing that, because my flesh wants to do things that Jeff wants to do when Jeff wants to do it.

As far as the resume updating, I will be doing it as part of an assignment over the next week and a half.  I will also have it professionally reviewed as part of my course work after Christmas as I start getting applications sent out.

THE GOVERNMENT WILL REOPEN TOMORROW MORNING!! The deal passed the Senate earlier with a 81-18 vote and has passed the House with north of 250 votes (218 needed). Good job, Democrats! Makes me proud to be a Democrat.

How could Jesus have blessed this country if he died almost eighteen centuries before it was created? White Southern political theology is weird.

Because, while He died, He also rose again and lives today.  Unlike Mohammed, Buddha, and Joseph Smith who died and are still dead, Jesus died, but was resurrected to life.  Plus, since Jesus is God and God has always existed, Jesus has always existed.

My grandmother's Texoma Beans are for dinner which is just pinto beans with bacon and ham mixed in.  I slept from 12:30-15:30.  As long as I don't sleep during school she's fine with it.

Then what exactly was it that God told you when he spoke to you?  There's no reason that you would be unwilling to tell us unless you knew that it didn't actually happen.

I've already told you like three or four times, yet you still refuse to believe.  He told me that my calling is in Kenya.  That's it.  Nothing longer, nothing shorter.  Now, STOP asking me that question.

Anyway, aside from Inks disbelief, I know what God has called me to do, I just don't know the how or when.  Good thing is, I don't have to know the how or when, I just have to be open to His prompting.
