Why ate you measuring your weight loss in decimals, or even pounds? Weights that specific can easily shift within hours & are probably not indicative if anything important.

The scale reads in two-tenths increments.  I've already told everyone when I weigh, so I don't need to share that again.  I weigh at the most accurate time of the day.

Random aside:
Can someone tell me why the insistence on the use "grilled" hamburgers? Are people boiling burgers these days or are we to salute Bushie that he isn't throwing them in to a deep fryer?

If it were me I'd just fry them in a pan, its easier.

Yeah, but are you really frying them on the pan? One would think that the burger has enough fat content where you would just need a little something so it doesnt stick to the pan and not a bunch of fatty oils.  Also they may be easier but it is terrible tasting, you barbarian Smiley

Indeed, fried patties are okay, but they are not near as good as grilled.

There's really no problem with beef folks.  His problem isn't fat he's consuming, its fat on his body, and that comes from sugar and other carbs most likely.  That, and sheer massive consumption of everything.

If he confined himself to eating three beef patties fried in a pan each with an egg on top per day, with no bun, and washed down only with black coffee or diet soda, then he would lose weight. (admittedly three breakfast steaks would be better).

Yeah but then he would die from not getting most of the other essential nutrients you need to live.

Also it's telling that Bushie is completely ignoring Moderate's post which rightly points out how ridiculous and counter-productive his calorie counting is.

I'm not purposefully ignoring it, I'm just preoccupied right now watching the Oregon vs. Virginia game.

I understand what he's saying.  I know its not the sheer number of calories, but what the calories are "spent" on that makes the difference.  I know things need to change with the way I see things.  I just get stuck in a huge rut and can't seem to get out of that rut.  I'm a work in progress, and sometimes it seems the progress is very slow, if present.

Guys, I had ONE bad day. ONE. Why are people thinking its now a habit?  Isn't everybody allowed to have a bad day?  Nobody is mentioning that I've been keeping my calories under 2,000 for a week or 10 days before.  They all want to rail on me for having one bad day and say that i'm hopeless.  I am not hopeless and am nowhere near hopeless.  I am nowhere near a diabetic and I am doing what I need to keep it that way.  One bad day does not diagnose with diabetes.  Mom and Dad are changing the way they eat.  I have said that countless times and yet everybody is still insulting them.  I don't know what gives.

You're morbidly obese; of course it's a habbit.  People don't just get morbidly obese from occasional bad days.  You have a habbit of overeating.  How else do you think you got to this point?  When is your next dietician appointment?

As far as the last three weeks go, it is not a habit.  It used to be a habit, yes, but its not anymore.  I have been losing weight over the past two to three weeks and have already lost nearly all of the two pounds I gained yesterday morning.  I'm down to 260.4.  I was at 261.8 yesterday morning.  I'm fine, Inks.  Nobody believes that and keeps yelling at me for that, but I'm fine.  I know what I need to do and I'm doing it.  I'm not perfect at it, and I do mess up, but I am doing a lot better now than I have been doing.

You're not fine.  You're morbidly obese.  You are seeing negative health effects as a result of your weight.  That is not fine.  You've plateaued at 260.  Sure, you may go a pound or two above or below it, but you're not losing weight anymore.  260 is still morbidly obese at your height.
Okay, but is there a purpose in hounding EVERY SINGLE NIGHT about it?

All times are accurate.  It's not less accurate to weigh yourself at night.  The scale is still the scale.  Now if you're talking about factoring in an empty stomach, that's what's different, but I'd hardly say that Bushie on an empty stomach is the "norm" to be your standard.
The point is, I weigh at the same time and in the same condition every morning.  Empty stomach, just after a BM, in same pajamas.  I've already told everyone when I weigh, so I don't know why you were questioning that again.  Oh well.

A little update for this Sunday Morning.  The beginning of a brand new week.  I slept well last night.  I got smart and went to bed at 2230 instead of 0100.  I woke up at 0730 and am ready for church.  I weighed in this morning at 259.2 which is the lowest its been in a long time.  I plan to continue going down.  For the first time in three weeks I am going to church this morning.  I haven't been since August 18 because I was sick the last two weeks.  After the morning service, we have a church potluck dinner (I rarely eat a whole lot at those events).  This afternoon is Week 1 NFL.  At 18:00, I've got a Business Meeting for Woods Baptist Church.  We are still discussing the sale of the property.  We've got a possible church interested in the property, a small, but growing Seventh-Day Adventist group from Del City.  If I had my preference, I would prefer to sell it to a church.  I hope we can have it sold by Christmas.  After the Business Meeting is Sunday Night Football - NY Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys.  I am cautiously optimistic about the Cowboys season and I expect a win tonight.  Dallas, though, has the talent to disappoint.  We'll see.  I'll go to bed right after the game is over in preparation for Week 6 of CADD.  I plan to put in a full 5 day week this week.  It will be my first full five day week since Week 1.  Week 2 was a 4 1/2 day week and then we all know I was sick in Weeks 3 and 4.  Week 5 was a short week anyway.

bushie what did you eat at the potluck?  and why dont you enjoy potlucks?

I usually don't find dishes I like.  This one was a different story.  I was very impressed to say the least.

Here is what I had this afternoon: (Portions approximate)

3 oz of Pot Roast and Potatoes
1/2 c of Taco Salad
1/4 c of Corn
1 generous scoop of a doritos/chicken/rotelle combination.  I don't know what it was called, but it was delish.  Rotelle in case you don't know is a cheese sauce similar to Chile Con Queso.
2 servings of banana pudding cake.
1/2 of a hot roll.

Oh what a wonderful business meeting!  That sounds strange to say, but it's true!  We have a tentative offer on the church and are moving forward with the appraisal and repair estimates.  We hope to have this sold by late October or early November.  Best of all, it is another church wanting to buy it.  I am meeting up at the church at 2100 tonight to go through the church documents and get them out of view of the repair estimate party which should start either tomorrow or Tuesday.  Since I am the church clerk, when I am told, I will take the documents to the Baptist Building in NW Oklahoma City for the Capital Baptist Association to store our documents.

Oh goody - I was right about the rotelle.  Why are you smiling at the fact that you ate no vegetables?  Do you enjoy your health problems?

I don't enjoy it, but I don't let stress be added to them.

Something about a morbidly obese man who continues to kill himself with food and who steals money from his parents to pay for his porn addiction at the same time that he can't hold down a job or have any sort of self-responsibility having voting rights in a business meeting just seems ... what's the word ... I'm being serious... the fact that you have a vote in any organization's business meeting is absolutely astounding to me.  Part of it is probably because your church doesn't know who the real Bushie is.  You're way more open with the forum than you are with everyone else.  To everyone else, you probably just appear to be a morbidly obese man who continues to kill himself with food (and maybe not even the latter part if people don't know how truly messed up your diet is).  But given your history, do you really think it's wise that you should have a say in the business and financial matters of a church?  Jeff, you can't pay a single one of your own bills... not a penny, and not because of some financial disaster or unforeseen hardship, but because you are irresponsible.  Yes, God forgives and being in church is ultimately good for you, but given your history, how do you think you can bring anything beneficial to the table (and that's a best case scenario... the worst case is that you're bringing your bad ideas to the table).
This is so silly I don't know where to begin.  I have been at this church for 27 years since I was 4 years old.  I think they know the real Jeff.  I've only been on the forum for 9 years including the BushAlva and KerryAlva accounts that I lost the password to many years ago.  They know what I eat on a daily basis and many of them eat similar.  Maybe not exactly what I eat, but they do eat similar.  As far as the irresponsibility goes.  How is going to school irresponsible?  That just doesn't compute.  You even have to agree that CADD is far from irresponsible.  It gets me out of the call center and will ultimately provide me with a good job.  Yes, I have been irresponsible in the past, but I am not now.  I'm doing the best I can with what I have at this point in time.  Since I have been there for 27 years, I have been there the longest out of anybody at the meetings.  One couple has been there for 22 years and the rest less than 20 years.  They value my input, because I have been there for the vast majority of the church's entire history.  I read the last month's minutes and record the new minutes at every business meeting and provide a voice.  Now, I mostly let the others talk it out and discuss what they want to do and if they ask my opinion, I give it to them, but that's from lack of knowledge on a particular subject not from any issue I'm dealing with in my personal life. Mostly, I either make the motion, second, or just give my approval.  Here in the past six months, we all have been unanimous in our decision making, so there's never a problem.  The fact is, we all deal with issues in our personal life that if we take your advice, nobody would be able to vote.  That's why we have accountability groups within the old congregation and new accountability groups within the new congregation.

As an aside, I am down to 258.4 as of this morning, the lowest I've been in quite a while.  It's not much, but if I can just keep from these bad days, I'll be headed south.

Inks, before I was real active on the forum I actually happened to be a life insurance agent.  I had a license and everything.  It taught me a lot about finances.  I don't hold a job now, but everyone knows I am pursuing my education to get a job.  The validity of that can never be disputed.  With my certificate, I will be looked at very strongly by Chesapeake Energy, Devon Energy, and the like.  I heard from a third party that Chesapeake hires more from Metro Tech than from colleges and universities.  I know what I'm doing.  When I said we all deal with issues, everyone not just my church does.  Our church did not fail. It served its purpose in God's kingdom.

On the weight issue, I am indeed 258.4. I am not fudging numbers here.  I sat on my butt all weekend, but I did not over indulge.  I didn't eat the right things, but I didn't stuff myself.  When tmth was here in July even he commented to the forum that I looked like I had lost weight.  That's first hand.  Read early Season IX for reference.

And how long were you a life insurance agent for?  What company?  Why did you leave that job?

About 15 months from September 2005-December 2006 for Primerica.  I sold a couple policies, but they were 3 hour drives away.  One policy flew back in my face because it was canceled and I had to pay for it.  It was a form of a MLM, and I couldn't get recruits.

Actually, the first MLM came in February 2005 with the first Kirby attempt.  It started On Wednesday and ended the next Monday.  You're right I did not learn my lesson after the first attempt, the second attempt, the third...  That's another reason I'm going to school is to get out of that trap, as well, by getting a stable, sane job that is neither MLM or call center.

Right as I posted that, my former pastor (the kids dad) came in, so I was able to escape to the house.  I was only over there for 45 minutes.
