I'm watching the 2013 NFL Hall of Fame Game between the Miami Dolphins vs. Dallas Cowboys.  Some may say it's just preseason, and preseason is pointless, but I don't care - football is back!!

So, it is after 20:00 on a Sunday Evening and I am watching a pretty good football game.  This game should be over by 2215 and I'll probably hit the sack pretty quick after that, definitely by 2300 or before.  My alarm is set for 0500 so I can get up, get into my Bible very first thing, then shave and brush my teeth, update facebook and the forum while watching the morning news.  Class starts at 0740, so I want to be there by 0715, which means I need to leave the house by 0640-0645.  I really prefer to get up by 0445, but my evening schedule won't really permit that, so I'll settle for 0500, maybe 0515.

I do mean well, bushie. I'm probably the best person you could come to on this forum. Of course, you'll never realize that, but it is the truth. I'm not trying to insult you. I'm trying to challenge you - make you angry - fire you up. I'm clearly failing because you aren't changing at all

I know your intentions are mostly pure (you are human after all).  As I said a few pages back, I know your purpose is to challenge, not to put down.  I also know I haven't lived up to the challenge lately, but as I keep preaching, past behavior is not an automatic guarantee to the future.  Although, I am winning somewhat.  Just a couple months ago, even earlier in July, some were saying CAD would basically be dead on arrival.  Now, they're saying it will be dead by October 1.  I'm forcing them to move the goal posts, so to speak.  So, I am winning one battle!  Speaking of CAD, I will be leaving in 10 minutes for my first day of CAD.

My day is over.  At lunch the high school students go back to school and new ones come in for the afternoon session. Since we have no passwords, the stuff this afternoon was just going to be a repeat, so he had us sign in for the afternoon and excused us who stay both sessions for the rest of the day. Hopefully, we'll get passwords tomorrow and can stay all day.

is it a fast food lunch?

I plan to take my lunch 3-4 days a week and go out 1-2 days a week, generally toward the end of the week.  I wanted to get the lay of the land today and see what facilities were available and there is a break room with vending machines that charge a dollar for a can of pop, which is quite high, IMO.  I'll be bringing more water with me just to save money.  On a normal week, I plan to take my lunch Monday-Wednesday and go out Thursday-Friday.  This week, since I went out today, I'll take my lunch Tuesday-Thursday and go out again Friday.

I still choose not to date right now.  Fact is, women are expensive!  Without a job right now, it would be hard to support her.  If I did have a job, I would have no time to spend with her.  So, for the lady's sake, I am refraining and when I do start looking, I'll keep it close to my age.

Duke, I come from a VERY old-fashioned family.  When I take girls on dates, it is within how I was raised to pay for their meal or movie ticket or whatever the event happens to be.  I was also raised to open EVERY door for the lady except the Women's Restroom.  In my family, the man pays for EVERYTHING and the woman pays for NOTHING unless it is wedding preparation (which is mostly funded by the bride's family).  Now, I was not raised to get engaged 3 weeks after we meet.  That is where I overstepped the bounds.  By supporting her, I mean paying for her end of the date, even if its just meeting for lunch at McDonald's all the way up to a high dollar movie.  I still follow dating rules of my grandmother's dating years (early 1940's).  I will keep those protocols until the day I die.  I would rather be rejected for being too much of a gentleman than to have any hint of non-gentleman protocols (from a 1930's and 1940's perspective).

no, I would have had we gotten married.  Lord knew what He was doing when He split us up. She would've been great from a personal standpoint, but I couldn't get past her medicine or her mother.  Talk about war of the in-laws!

You hit the nail on the head, Lief, on most of your statement.  The lady has to either have a job or pursuing an education to get a job (like me), she has to be able to drive.  I would rather not have a vegetarian, although that's a very minor issue in my book.  I can adapt, albeit grudgingly, to whatever cuisine she enjoys.

Speaking as a vegetarian, I once had to spend a few weeks out in rural New Mexico. Let me tell you, living on cheese-lettuce-bread "sandwiches" every day gets old real fast. And you don't actually lose weight as you might think, since the only stuff without meat is bread and chips.

My aunt happens to be a vegetarian, always has been.  Her daughters aren't, but she is.

The evening is going along just fine.  I'm watching some Yankee/White Sox baseball on my tablet and just chilling.  I'll be ready to go to bed by 2230 and up again by 0500.  Tomorrow should be a full day, as we should have the passwords for the computers and be able to start on the security lessons that precede the actual CAD work.  I hope we can get started on CAD by Wednesday or Thursday at the latest.

Are you researching a new job Bushie?

I am going to school for a new career field (Computer Aided Drafting and Design - Mechanical).  This schooling will be complete in May 2014 after which I plan to get a job in Kansas City, Missouri.

Anyway, I'm home from a good day.  We finished the safety modules that we required by the school.  Tomorrow, we should be able to start on real CADD work.  We've got AutoCAD 2014 and 3D Maxx 2014 on our computers at school and we'll be getting another monitor to put on each of our desks making dual 24" monitors to play with.  The book will likely be AutoCAD 2012, but according to the instructor there are only a few inconsequential changes.  He's going to check into the availability of the AutoCAD 2014 textbook and see if it is cost effective to get the book.  This is exactly what I needed to do.  People here question me for going back to school, but they also urged me to get out of the call center, and this is the best way to do it.  It's also more beneficial, for me, to focus 100% on CADD and not work at this time.  I think it was good that JC Penney never called me back and that Target rejected me right off.  Looking back, I am grateful for those two rejections.  There will be homework, mainly occasional reading.  Plus, knowing my body, I cannot go 12+ hours a day for 5-6 days a week or I will pass out.  I've done it before, twice.

You all might like this.  I've already discovered out during the school day, I can drink 5 glasses of water between the hours of 7:40 and 14:15.  I take a bottle of water with me in my lunch with some Dasani Pink Lemonade squirts mixed in and drink it in the morning and that lasts me right up until lunch, and then I can put $1.25 in the machine at the end of lunch and get a bottle of Dasani water.  This might be the key to get more water in my system along with learning a new career field.

It's a class high schoolers probably take. I doubt you need to focus 100% on CAD, but I will remind you and everyone else how I said you'd never work part time months ago. You, of course, attacked me for talking you down, but here we are.

Further, you continue to be an absolutist. Yes, we said to get out of call centers, but that doesn't mean we meant sink another $5k into CAD, a class you never showed interest in before your dad randomly brought it up.

As I said, we'll see who's right and how this turns out.... Place your bets!

We shall see who is right, won't we!  There are 5 other adult students taking the same class ranging in ages from mid 20's to mid 50's.  I am not the only adult.  The class costs $3,000, which is a small price to invest for something that should pay some pretty nice dividends.  Plus, it is so much better than a call center.  I had to do something, and I think picked correctly.  We'll see how this game plays out.  Just remember, I, and I alone, call the shots here.   I can rig this game to where I win!

Don't know.  They're both valid, and the school website uses CAD, but CADD is probably more appropriate according to the teacher who has spent 23 years in the field.
