And don't you think that you should apologize to your parents and confess that you were stealing from them?

They already know.

When did you tell them?

A few days ago.

What day?  And they were just cool with you keeping the PB subscription until Monday?

What exactly did you say?  What did they say?

It was Friday evening.  They knew I was working on it and they knew I was struggling with it.  They said as long as I cancelled it Monday with no more money involved, they were fine.

I told them I was struggling with pornography and that I had taken out a few subscriptions, but that I had cancelled most of them and was waiting until I could get some privacy before I cancelled the last one.  They agreed to that.  They were disappointed, naturally, but they understand that I am a guy and I'm going to struggle with that.  They just told me to cancel the Playboy on Monday, and not to take out any more subscriptions.  If I need a diversion, they told me to come to them and we'll go out to eat or go shopping or something.  They weren't hostile about it, though.

I don't believe that story.  You updated about the forum about your headache practically every hour to 90 minutes, yet you didn't mention something we'd been harping on you for?  That's not like you.

Be honest (and keep in mind that a few days ago, you were claiming that you didn't have a problem with compulsive lying).  Are you telling the 100% truth right now (and that means no dishonest omissions)?  If not, then that's a pretty sad problem, because you'd then be lying about lying, which would really say something about the condition you're really in.

So... if you're lying, just admit it now, because that story really doesn't fit with your usual habits.

No, the story is 100% accurate.  Yes, I did have a headache, but I still was able to talk to them.  The chat only took 15 minutes.  I didn't mention it on here at the time, because I wanted to let it soak in for a few days first.  I was about to post it this evening, until you asked about it.

They just have a different approach to this type of thing.

As of earlier this evening, my trip to Kenya which begins in a mere 37 days is completely paid for other than visa/baggage/spending money!  I'll get the spending money the first week of June, but other than that, the trip is paid for!

wait wait wait a second something doesn't add up here

1. Bushie is around his family and doesn't want them to know about Playboy
2. Bushie tells us he's not cancelling Playboy until Monday because of this
3. Bushie tells his family about Playboy on Friday
4. Bushie still waits until Monday to cancel Playboy
5. Bushie didn't tell the forum about any of this

How long until the Kenyan bubble bursts? Doesn't the country already have far more churches per capita than the US? And they are a larger percentage of Christians than in the US? It seems like the supply will soon outstrip the demand, if it is not already.

Did you miss the new possibility by way of the Peace Corps?

Since I'm only the Associate Pastor, I don't preach until next Sunday night.  He has a guest coming in Sunday Morning.  I am also starting a Wednesday evening series starting on May 22.  I will preach the mornings of June 2 and July 7.

No, I read it. That would be good for you, but you definitely need to drop some weight before you go considering how many health problems you have at the moment. You don't want to be in a jungle somewhere and have a headache or heart attack!

I think it would be a great way to get indoctrinated into overseas lifestyle.  Also, it may or may not be Kenya.  It could be anywhere in the world.  I would prefer Kenya, but I will leave myself available for the entire world.  They are not going to send me into a situation that is not safe, so I don't have to worry about being thrown right in the middle of Afghanistan or Rwanda or North Korea, etc.  Right now, I'm just trying to think of the timing of such an endeavor.  Methinks I want to at least get my CAD certificate before I apply.

Sbane, I didn't need privacy, I just requested privacy.

Anyway, folks, I am going to bed on this Tuesday morning.  I have a Doctor's Appointment at 10:40, so I need some sleep.  I've got a lot to pray about over the coming weeks and months, that's for sure.

Do you guys want to hear about the great benefits of Rainbow Play Systems? Probably not!

http://vocaroo.com/i/s1eKxYWCduii

You can also hear the awesome job opportunity that made Bushie quit working at Oklahoma Natural Gas in the first place

http://vocaroo.com/i/s1YueZaErDqG

I wonder if Bushie has an accent. Do Oklahomans have accents? I guess it's more of a Midwestern than a Southern accent.

It's kind of a "Midwesternized" version of a Texas accent.

I should be in bed right now, but I wanted to get the forum's opinion on a possible timeline for the Peace Corps.

I'll go to school as planned in August 2013, but while I'm studying, along about November 1 or December 1, 2013 go ahead and start my Peace Corps application.  By going to the doctor this morning, I will be able to get started losing weight almost immediately.  By Halloween, I should have been able to lose 40-50 lbs with hard work and dedication.  If I start my Application by December 1, then I would leave most likely in the Autumn 2014 between September 1 and December 1, 2014.  That would put me back in the United States between December 1, 2016 and March 1, 2017 (27 months).  When I get back, I can work for 18-24 months and then by January 1, 2019 I can return to full time missions with Maisha.  The Director told me on Monday that the volunteer homes may not be ready for another five years, which would put it ~2018.  As I've mentioned before, the good thing about the Peace Corps is I wouldn't have to pay a dime to go except for maybe some medical or dental checkups before I go and maybe a couple immunizations, I would be paid to live like the local, I would receive 100% medical and dental coverage, I would have my flights to and from the host country paid for, and I would receive $7,425 pre-tax at the end of my 27 month term to readjust to life back home.  This would also have another major benefit:  It would force me to grow up the rest of the way, as I will be on my own away from family and friends, although I would have Skype.

It's also possible that I could move the dates up so I can time my departure not too long after I complete my certificate so I won't have to worry about getting a job and then leaving it again within 5 months and taking another hit to my resume.  If I timed it for, say, July 1, 2014 departure, I would have to apply most likely as soon as I get back from Kenya.  I would still need the certificate so I can have more education under my belt for some of the jobs they have.  With the Peace Corps, I could use my E-Commerce Major and CAD Certificate at the same time, pretty much.  It's almost like applying to a regular job, except these jobs are overseas.

I know the duration of my life will be devoted to missions, there's no question about that.  It's a nice thought to know that if I leave next summer, I will be beginning my life's calling and beginning to fulfill my life's purpose.  I will be beginning to do what I will be doing the rest of my life.

They just have a different approach to this type of thing.

A different approach to being defrauded by their son multiple times?  Yes, clearly they have a different, atypical approach to dealing with you and your issues.  I'm guessing that their "different approach" is part of the reason that your problems have progressed to be as severe as they are.

I'm not really sure how you can defend them (other from a selfish viewpoint), because you have not learned any lesson here, so what's to stop you from going back to porn on their dime in another 2 months?

I can't defend them, really.

What's to stop me from going back? I don't know, maybe focus on a new goal.

In case you haven't noticed, Inks, I've moved on to a different subject, something that is much more worthwhile and that would be very good for me, I believe.

Out of the Doctor.  He gave me a referral to the Indian Dietician and Wellness Center.  One of the perks of being an Indian I just found out is a free gym, free athletic trainer, free Dietician!!

Right but which one of his ancestors was it?

It was my Maternal Grandfather's Great-Grandfather that was the full blood.  I am 1/32, so my mother is 1/16, Grandpa was 1/8, his dad 1/4, etc.  My niece is 1/64 and is still eligible for Indian care if she were to ever move to Oklahoma.  Actually, all she needs is a card and she can go to any Indian Clinic in the country.  I even believe her children, which would be 1/128, would still be eligible.

The Wellness Center is about 25 miles away, so a good half hour to get there.  If I'm going to be committed to getting myself in shape to go either to the Peace Corps or to Kenya, I'm going to have to go to the Dietician and Wellness Center regardless of the mileage.  I may not go everyday, but there shouldn't be any reason why I can't go 4 times a week.  Even if I don't go to the gym, I can still walk.  I know I haven't shown any signs of commitment, but that doesn't mean it can't start.

As far as the Peace Corps, yes they are selective, but my E-Commerce degree would help in the IT jobs.  I know, because I looked the Peace Corp web site early this morning at the job descriptions and qualifications.  My biggest thing would be getting my weight down.  I'm not going to apply until September 1, which is 3 1/2 months from now.  In that time, I shouldn't have any problems losing about 25 pounds which would get me down to about 247, since I currently weigh 272.  During the application process, I will also be losing weight with the hopes of getting down to at least 200, if not in the 180's by the time I leave.  Plus, I am going to keep my availability wide open as far as locations and timing, so I have a better chance of being accepted.

One of the ladies going to Kenya with us next month served one year in the Peace Corps in rural Kenya in 2011-2012, so I hope to be able to glean a lot from her experiences and her stories as far as selection criteria as well as life as a Volunteer.

By applying for the Peace Corps at the beginning of my certificate pursuit, I will know whether I have been invited long before I complete the certificate, so if I am not accepted, I can go back to Plan A and get a job with the certificate and raise the $5,000 necessary to spend the summer in Kenya with the Maisha Director in 2015.

Plus, if this is God's Will, there is nobody that can stop it, not even the Peace Corps themselves.  If it is not His Will, there is nobody that can make it happen, not even the Peace Corps or myself.

I do know one thing is certain.  My life will be spent in missions, whether that's with Peace Corps and Kenya or just Kenya.  I have no doubt in my mind that I am called to foreign missions.  The only question is when do I go and in what capacity.

Upgrading to a computer science major sounds like the most realistic of Jeff's current ideas.

It would also improve his chances of getting into the Peace Corps, if he had a "proper" degree.

Funny you should say that, because the Maisha Director said the Peace Corps favors college students.  They do have older adults go, like my Kenya Teammate was at least 60 years old when she went.  I don't know her age, but she looks probably mid 60's.  But, older adults are the exception rather than the rule.

Okay, I met several Peace Corps workers in Vanuatu (Pacific) that were mid 50s and early 60s and a lot of young people in their 20s. But that's of course not necessarily representative.

I think your problem could be that you are too old (30+) to fit into the college student group and too poorly educated to be chosen in the more mature group. So finishing your degree might be the best way to go, and if you don't get in you would still have the degree.

The Computer Science Upgrade would actually count as my second degree.  I've already got one bachelor's degree in E-Commerce.  According to the website, 90% of their jobs require a bachelor's degree.

Your bachelor in E-Commerce doesn't count as a "proper" degree. I think you have to be realistic about that.

You're probably right, but it is a bachelor's degree nonetheless.  It's not doing anything for me at the moment, but its like a History degree or a Poli Sci degree or a Philanthropy degree.  They don't do anything for their holder's careers, but they are still a bachelor's degree.

History and Political Science are real academic fields (I have no idea what a "philanthropy" degree is...). They're not at all comparable to a degree in ecommerce.

Still, E-Commerce was a legitimate degree offered by a legitimate university, and it took 6 years of hard work to get it!

We get together, sort and pack up all the supplies, weigh the suitcases to make sure they're within FAA and United Airlines guidelines.  It usually takes about 90-120 minutes.  Last year, we didn't do it until about 11 days before the trip, but we're doing it 32 days prior this time because the Maisha Director will be going to Kenya about 3 weeks ahead of us on May 30, and she knows best about what to pack.

Wait, so what are you going to wear for a month while your clothes are all packed up?

These are just the supplies.  We pack the personal items on our own later.
