There's a small to medium sized amount of crime in Harrah (immediately to my North and East), mostly home burglaries and domestic disputes.  Shawnee has been getting rough as of late.  Choctaw (immediately to my west) seems to have one or two incidents a month, generally of the animal cruelty variety or domestic disputes variety.  There are parts of Midwest City and Oklahoma City that it is risky to even drive through in broad daylight and you sure as heck don't pass through between 6:00 pm and 7:00 am.  If you have to drive through, lock your doors and keep on driving, do not stop.

Main roads you're fine for the most part.  Again, as long as you keep your doors locked and do not stop other than as required by law.  Do not get out of your car.  There are a few pockets in the Oklahoma City Metro.  Men generally don't have trouble, but I don't recommend women going alone through those areas.  The majority of the Oklahoma City Metro that are as safe as a big city can be.  Usually the bad pockets aren't more than a couple or three square miles big.  After dark, stay away from those areas.

You leave your kids in Kenya but advise people you'll never meet to stay away from fairly safe areas of Oklahoma...what kind of father are you Bushie?

The area around the Maisha Orphanage in Kisumu, Kenya is safer in some respects than some of the areas in Oklahoma City.

Believe you me, Springfield Township has had its fair share of mischievous rascals!

I know, Bart and Lisa can be devilish kids. Smiley
