I was breathing somewhat heavy after 1.12 miles Monday.  2 miles might be a stretch.  I'll just say this, I'll go as far as I can.

I would rather die by food poisoning than die trying to get myself in shape.  I have absolutely no interest in the Insanity Workout.  I wish I could find a space where I can set my Biggest Loser workout back up, but so far I haven't found it. Sad

Grandma's house?

Nope, not there.  I like to do the workout in private.

Changing the subject for a bit.  I have decided that before I go to bed, I will watch two movies:  The Marx Brothers: Animal Crackers and Monkey Business.  Hopefully, I can make it to Monkey Business. Smiley

Reach for the sky Bushie.  If you can't control your diet or walk a mile without having a heart attack, you can at least demonstrate your determination with another high priority goal: Staying awake until 1am so you can watch a movie.

Although, I may stop it after this first movie since I didn't sleep much this morning.  I couldn't fall asleep until 4:00 am this morning and had to wake up about 9:15, so I only had 5 hours of sleep.  This movie will be over by 00:35, so I should be able to be in bed by 01:00 easily and get 8 hours sleep.

Sure, why do you expect us to give you straight answers when 1. you continually lie to yourself and the forum 2. you completely ignore all good advice ever proffered. 3. This whole thread is a vanity project.  Enjoy the walk, I suppose.

4. But please do stop pissing down our legs and telling us it is raining.

1.  There are times when I have stupid moments.  However, I am watching myself very closely to make sure I don't fib to the forum.

2.  I've been cheating myself by saying "ah, they're a bunch of Internet strangers who don't really know me."  That's one of the things I'll be working on in my new year.

3.  The Update is a candid piece of work.  Some could say it's been a vanity project, and they have a valid point, but to be honest when the writers were first starting to think about the Update Series, long before Season I, it was never meant to be a serious thread.  It has turned into such, much of it my own doing, and the advice given is no less valid and no less potentially productive, but I have never meant this as a serious series.

4.  As I mentioned in Point 1, I am working on more honesty and more courtesy toward the viewers.  The writers do not need to consistently pull the viewer's leg.  That's bad for the press and bad for PR.

To summarize, I have a lot of things I will be working on in my new year.

A little programming note:  On Sunday, 28 April 2013 at 23:45 CDT, Update VI will close.  On Monday, 29 April 2013 at 00:15 CDT, Update VII will open.  It will be the beginning of a new year in the main character's life.

Bushie, as long as you're open to answering questions now, let me ask something I think I asked a while back but never got an answer on: You had mentioned your dad mowing the lawn.  Since your dad works, and you're living off of your parents rent free, are you doing any chores around the house to pitch in?  Why don't you mow the lawn rather than your dad for example?

I am doing the dishes after most meals.  I am taking out the trash, checking the mail, doing my own laundry, and keeping the house straightened up.  I also am helping Dad in the yard when needed.  He has still been mowing, but I will be taking care of that the next time it needs to be done.  I am also going to get out there and finish picking up the leaves that the recent flood left behind.  Granted, I'm not doing as much as I should, but I am trying to do something.

You know, every time you refer to "the writers", it just reminds the forum how fictionalized and attention-whorey this thread is.  Life doesn't have "writers".  Calling it that is annoying and makes you sound like you think you're more important than you actually are.  You are not a "writer".  Sure, you're a great liar, but that's more of a disorder than something positive.

I just try to interject some humor.  That's all.  Plus, it wasn't me who started the "writers" mantra.  Talk to BRTD several seasons ago.  It's a way for me to keep it from getting too serious.

What's with the arbitrary new starting time for Update VII?  And why is the update thread taking a 30 minute break?

My birthday is Monday and I want to get a clean start.  As far as the 30 minute break, do I have to have a reason?

Yet you've left rotting fruit around for a day, acknowledging that you have nothing important to do, and you still don't throw it out.

So, what?  There is no need for you to micromanage every detail of my life and pester me with every petty thing I do.  Seriously, it is getting annoying.

If you don't want to seem crazy, yes.

Part of growing up is that you stop caring what other people think.  They already think I'm crazy, but it doesn't phase me a bit. Smiley

You should have a 31 minute break to symbolize your new age.

I have enough of those as it is. Smiley

Inks should be able to confirm, but I just walked nearly 30 minutes and logged 1.50 miles.  I had to get my medicine in Shawnee, so I just went to the Shawnee Mall and walked.

Actually, right now, I am the Assistant Pastor at my church.  That's not a joke, either.  I knew I was called to preach way back in 1988, when I was only 6 years old.  If I cannot go to Kenya for whatever reason, I will probably be preaching and leading a congregation somewhere.

but youve no doubt thought about it.

I've thought about it, and I tested the app, by setting it to running and then getting in my car.  It started going as fast as the car was moving.

Sbane is right, I am definitely not charismatic.  In fact, I have heard it said of me that roots grow under my feet when I preach.  I stay right at the pulpit and don't even move from one side of the pulpit to the other.  The main reason is my church is so small that we have no need for a lapel mic.  We just use the pulpit mic or the two other mics if we're purposely standing away from the pulpit.

I don't have to be charismatic, though.  The worshipers are not coming to hear me, they are coming to hear God.  Every time I preach, or every time I pray right before my Pastor Cousin preaches, I ask God to "hide him behind the cross so that all the congregation may see is You."  The messages are not about the men behind the pulpit, they are about God speaking to the worshipers through the mouth of the preacher.  We also are very careful to say during every sermon to not take our words for it, but to measure everything against the Word of God and if there are discrepancies, always believe the Bible, not us, and to approach us and let us know we were wrong.  We are definitely open to being corrected, as we are just human ourselves and are far from infallible.

Alright, so here are my plans for Friday, 26 April 2013.  I have to get my haircut and the oil changed in my car in the morning.  I will try to fit in a walk in the afternoon, before Mom, Dad, and me go to Shawnee to Cracker Barrel for an early dinner.  Then, tomorrow evening I will watch Rounds 2 & 3 of the 2013 NFL Draft.

Good Friday Morning!  I woke up a little earlier than usual this morning, about 08:20.  I've got a few things to do this morning like get the oil changed, my hair cut, and try to find someone to mow the yard at the house.  I did wake up with a pretty good sized headache, so this could be an interesting day.  This afternoon, Dad will be home by 3:15 and we'll head to Shawnee to eat at Cracker Barrel and make a quick stop at Staples.

I would, but I don't have a lawn mower over there and it's a lot of hassle taking the lawn mower out of Dad's shop, haul it to the house, get gas for the lawn mower, mow the lawn, load it back up in the Jimmy, haul it back home, and put it back in Dad's shop.  It's a whole lot easier and more convenient to find somebody to pay $30 or $40 to mow the lawn.  The neighbor has mowed my lawn several times and he has his mower with him and all he has to do is drag it about 5 feet and he's in my yard.

That was quick.  I just found someone to mow my lawn.  My first ex-fiancee' actually has offered to mow it for $50.  It's a little more than I was wanting to pay, but she saved me a lot of hassle to find a mower.  I'm meeting her at 13:00 today.

Even though she's kind of crazy, and I don't agree with many things she does, she has not lost my trust.  Plus, I haven't seen her in 3 years since I left ONG.

I'm getting my oil changed right now and having brunch at the same time.  I'm eating now so I can have time to walk around noon time.
