I've been around for 2006, 2008, 2010 ... but I don't think I've seen a worse season.
I come here to debate issues, trying to use facts as the basis of these debates. But for so many, they reside in the realm of basing what they'd read on a blog or saw on a program driven by opinion, not information.
Honestly, when I, with a pretty calm and not easily flustered type, is actively avoiding huge chunks of the forum because I know this isn't about a debate or reasoned discussion, it's about shouting opinions at each other, and treating them as facts... it's time to spend some time away.
To the mindless trolls (of both sides), congratulations, you've managed to lower the already somewhat fragile tone of this place and turned it into a sideshow. To those sensible posters who are encouraging them, just because they agree with them... I can't say much...
I'm convinced this is only going to get worse before it gets better.
I'll be back at some point, and I will still vote in Atlasia.
