I know what you mean.  8:00 is still a little on the late side for me.

Well, actually, it would normally be fine for me. I'm generally up late... but I'm gonna go to the midnight showing for Thor tomorrow night... so I may miss the end of the debate. Maybe I'll just watch it online when I get home.

The debate should be over by 10:30 your time, if not 11:00 at the latest.  They're normally 90-120 minutes maximum.  Depending on how far away you have to go to see Thor, you ought to be able to catch the end of it.  You may have to bail right after the last closing statement, but you should be fine.

The debate is supposed to run for 90 min.  At least, that's what the online TV schedules indicate.

Exactly, so Eraser should be able to easily finish up the debate and then leave for the showing.  Unless he's going somewhere that's more than an hour away.

Nah, my theater is only like 20 minutes away. I might want to go to a diner before the show though, not sure yet.

How early do you like to get to the theater?  For me it's like 30 minutes so I can get my popcorn and drink and get a good seat.

A couple days ago when I first learned of the debate, I wasn't sure I wanted to watch it, since there won't be any of the top-tier candidates, but the more I think about it, the more I want to tune in and watch, as Meeker said, the developing mess!!  I might even DVR it.

Anyway, getting back on topic, how would posters here rank the five people participating in this debate in terms of preference?

For me, it goes:

Might give at least slight consideration to voting for:
1. Gary Johnson
Would never vote for:
2. Ron Paul
3. Tim Pawlenty
Would never vote for and would try to stay away from people who legitimately support them:
4. Hermain Cain
5. Rick Santorum

I would support in this order:

Rick Santorum
Ron Paul
Gary Johnson
Tim Pawlenty
Herman Cain

Rick Santorum may be at the top of the list, but he is far, far down on the list.  Mike Huckabee is only a possiblity for me.  I doubt I would support any of these kooks over the current president.

AP and Reuters have announced that they won't be covering this, so it'll get virtually no media coverage outside of Fox News and its local affiliates.

Timmy must be really happy about that!

LOL!!

I'm surprised that you've placed the the constitutionalist/sorta libertarian and the actual libertarian ahead of the middle-of-the-roader Pawlenty. I can't see you agreeing with Gary Johnson on much of anything, really.

Well, when you get down that low on the totem pole, there's not a whole lot of difference between position 97 and 98!!  If you know what I mean!!  You're right, though, I would probably support TP over GJ, but again it's negligible when you get down that low.

It's like what's the real difference between 97 and 98 degrees or 2 and 3 degrees?
