Voted some time in 2018.
Keep in mind this is one of the toughest jobs in Washington, with an extremely high burnout rate, even when operating under mentally stable POTUS. I do believe than Gen. Kelly considers it a service to country to be in this role, and perhaps an obligation to try and keep the west wing as stable as possible. I anticipate POTUS behavior will get much worse in the months leading up to midterms. His news consumption will probably increase, as will the personal attacks on him (R+D), which he (of course MUST) respond to. Midterm season is an extremely political period, no Gen. Kellys background or forte, so I would guess he resigns prior to the final campaign stretch, or tries to leave as soon as its over. Reasonable chance he is forced out over some petty thing prior to 2018 (think Sec. Rex right now).
Whatever happens, when Kelly DOES leave, the entire country should recognize he has served FAR more than his fare share, and been forced to deal with much more bull**** than average.
