I sure hope so.

I'm not in any way, shape, or form a Wallace supporter. But I don't think it's entirely ridiculous for someone to unironically support Wallace today. Looking past the segregation issue, Wallace appealed to working class whites and white ethnics. There just simply isn't anyone like Wallace today in the aspect of being a vehemently socially conservative and populist Democrat.

Nelson Rockefeller/Barry Goldwater 278 EVs
George Wallace/ George Smathers 140 EVs
Eugene McCarthy/ Hubert H. Humphrey 120 EVs

Significant numbers of the Southern Democratic party swing over to support Wallace. Republicans make steep gains in traditionally Democratic areas. The Dixiecrats take second place Electorally, but third in the popular vote.
