I have found this story to be part of a larger cycle.

Trump bypasses the media using Twitter, and very cleverly.

Whilst he should be front and centre on policy reform, he diverts the media with tweets with short emotivr statementd ending in exclamation marks.

By sending "Death-tweets" to North Korean leaders and "So sad! tweets" to semi-retired Hollywood actresses, he sends the media into a two day long wild goose chase frenzy.

Meanwhile, the media (which to be honest has lost an incredible amount of respect) then tries to simultaneously hold Donald to account, to which Donald replies - "Fake News!".

Everyone knows the media is utter sh**te now, so they then somehow associate Donald with telling thevtruth.

The double negative is proven and the cycle continues.

Trump is the first President to come along with such an utter disdain for the media, and given his popularity, a large proportion of the US electorate agree.

You cannot pay for entertainment this good.

Perhaps you could clarify what you mean by "the media"? Twitter is a medium, Youtube is a medium, newsprint is a medium, TV is a medium, radio is a medium, blogs and other websites are a medium.

trump isn't 'bypassing' the media with his twitter account. His twitter account is a medium just as much as the Washington Post print edition is a medium.

I think you're referring to what used to be called the 'mass media' i.e. the Newspaper, TV and radio news. With the slow rise of alternative radio and print media this was changed to the 'mainstream media'. However now with the internet and social media platforms like twitter, youtube and facebook meaning that 'mainstream' and 'alternative' media are operating on a much more even playing field even that distinction is dissolving pretty rapidly.

There is nothing special about legacy news sites like the Washington Post, NBC and other legacy organisation of the 'mass media' era. If you don't think they're doing good journalism then get your news from elsewhere.

I mean the six news channels. CNN, Fox, MSNBC, ABC, CBS and BBC. Apart from the first two, that is where i get my news online. And Atlas to a certain degree. I much prefer this very forum to learn some real world personal opinions.

There are some surpringly good literary talents on this forum.

I dont see Trump using Twitter as "media". I see a man bypassing the traditional channels through disgust and sheer frustration.

CNN and FOX present quite obtuse interpretations of what was said by their opposing political spectra. You can only move within their degrees of freedom. Trump or Conway talking to Anderson Cooper is like pushing a train perpendicular to the track.

Trump has taken their one dimensional approach to task, and they really struggle because to a certain degree they have to report on the President-elect.

Look at CNN and the stories it is now reduced to  Garbage journalism about people and foreign leaders who dont like Trump.

Trump has bent them over and given it to them hard. Eventually they will be reduced to reporting "Trump says we are dishonest and fraudulent". Donald has them by the short and curlies.

I have no real like for Fox either. It is just such a healthy environment to get some real opinions from the President of the encumbent media monoliths and how out of touch they really are.
