I don't think he'd win in the primary, but I think people are underestimating Minnesota's liberalism. We elected Paul Wellstone two times, remember?

If Democrats win back the House in 2018, either Ellison or Ryan should be Speaker of the House.

I also think if Franken runs for president in 2020 and retires from his Senate seat, then Ellison could make a run there and win.
