All public high school students must complete, between 9th and 12th grade, at least four courses in mathematics, four courses in English, three courses in a single foreign language, three courses in the social sciences, one course in Atlasian/American history, four courses of science with at least three of said courses lab intensive, in addition to four elective courses.

I'd say this is a bit too regulatory.  Students should have more leeway in what they study, especially in junior and senior years.

Either way, is there an estimate as to how much all of this would cost?

AYE, a student should be taught through 12th grade to live in a healthy way....which includes physical activity.

If that is our objective here, why don't we ban soft drink vending machines at schools?  Require better nutritional standards in school lunch programs?

Why do we make any subjects mandatory then, if we don't want to teach our students certain things?

This is exactly my point.  High school students deserve more leeway than this.

How does this, as Marokai said, pretend that if all kids work hard they will be successful.

By making the high school standards so strict and non-negotiable.
