I don't think that the government should be in the business of deciding what is a genocide and what isn't. If the Armenian atrocities constituted genocide, then they constituted genocide--there is no need for the government to place its official stamp of approval on using this label. I would rather allow the people to decide for themselves what is or is not a genocide, instead of having the government tell them.

This is a resolution.  It does not make recognition of the Armenian Genocide official Atlasian statute.  It is also a move taken by Canada and many countries in Europe; the purpose is to put pressure on Turkey so that it will acknowledge the atrocities it committed against the Armenian people.

Who are we to pressure another government?  Um, we're the government of Atlasia, last time I checked.

"Subjective" proof?  Are you implying that the Armenian Genocide didn't happen?  You can join Hawkeye in the Holocaust Deniers' Asylum then.

This isn't about whether or not it's called genocide or not.  The turkish government refuses to say they were even responsible for the deaths, saying it was the result of inter-ethnic strife among the Armenians.  There are many reasons to reject this, the sheer number of the death toll being the most obvious.
