Trump actually won evangelicals in many state primaries, and he will win them in November.

They've decided to vote for someone who "speaks his mind" even if they don't agree with it, because they think Trump is more likely to keep his promises than a Republican establishment hack.  They trust a pathological liar who at least "seems like he will upset the right people" more than the proven panderers.
