Didn't I already post? Anyway, I'll go with Richard Holbrooke as still being in the lead despite the obvious challenge he'd face. Failing him, maybe Gary Locke?

Would she re-nominate Kerry?

He wouldn't have to renominated though, no?

The "obvious challenge" for Holbrooke being that he is dead?

I think that choosing a Republican here would be a good sign (Huntsman?), but I suspect it will be somebody like Sherman.
