I have lots of opinions on reforms that could help the police, but at this point it feels hopeless. No one deserves to die, and to be murdered in this way... Ugh.

He was already in handcuffs.
And on the ground, face-down.
Why apply severe pressure (weight) to someone neck and upper body. He was going nowhere.
This is just so stupid and now someone is gone forever.
And all this over possible forgery?

Even if he committed something much worse, Minnesota doesn't have the death penalty, and it certainly doesn't allow police to be judge, jury, and executioner.

It sounds as if this has been recommended for FBI investigation. That's good, but there needs to be a cultural change within policing, especially in regards to training and the types of recruits chosen. We need social work majors, counseling majors, etc.

Anyway, I am disgusted and ashamed of humanity. I can't believe anyone could dehumanize someone to the point that they don't respond to someone literally begging for their life.

Apparently social distancing doesn’t apply to liberal “protestors”.

These guys should be recorded and denied medical treatment in the event of a shortage, just like the anti-lockdown protestors. You act ridiculous, you face the consequences.
This is not the right time for any type of physical protest (with reasonable limitations) and it is certainly not the right time to loot stores and break windows to own the “evil fascist police scum”.

And yes, the police involved in the original incident should be arrested. That doesn’t give you a pass to loot a store while spreading a deadly virus.

Could you kindly stop with the "deny healthcare" thing? We don't deny healthcare to smokers, alcoholics, diabetics who struggle with managing their disease, etc. This suggestion is disgusting. No one should be arrested for protesting because jails are hotbeds of COVID.

Is there any way Walz can intercede here? I honestly don't know, hence asking. Obviously he can't arrest people by fiat, but can he somehow recommend charges? The mayor already has.

Ugh. Minnesota and Wisconsin both have a very long history of severe racism, and it's finally boiling over in Minnesota. I hope our leaders and people rise to the occasion and help bring about real change. Minnesota has the chance to do it now. Wisconsin doesn't.

There is a video of a man breaking the windows at the AutoZone. He is very clearly not with the protestors.

This has launched theories that the police themselves instigated the actual rioting and looting. I'm not claiming this is true, simply sharing the discussion I've seen. The video above in regards to AutoZone definitely shows someone not from the protests starting property damage.

Yeah, I had seen the guesses on who it could be, but as the debunked pictures from earlier in this thread show, it's hard to determine, and the perpetrator had a full mask. Whoever it is needs to be brought to justice, but I'm suspicious of quick-done doxxing.
