Senator Duckworth is, I believe, the best option.

What about Tammy Baldwin? Could she help win Wisconsin?

It puts her Senate seat at risk though
I wonder if this would mean the return of Russ Feingold to the Senate.  I hope Wisconsin would have learned from 2016.

That one still hurts. Sad

Mayor Bottoms appears to be getting the attention of the Biden team.

"In awe" in a good way?

Certainly seems so.  She is displaying tremendous leadership during a very difficult time and her message is one that would seem to resonate well with everyone, I'd think.  There is such a void of leadership in this country that it creates an opportunity for someone like Bottoms.  We don't normally consider mayors as VP's or Presidents, but there is certainly an argument to be made there.  And with the country currently overcome by outbreak of disease, civil distress and potentially a financial disaster, I think a lot of people are craving and desiring leadership qualities above other characteristics we typically look for in Presidents (federal experience, etc.).

YEP! I'm all in on Mayor Bottoms, honestly.

I just don't understand how Biden's team failed to vet Bass, like, at all. How do you miss: Castro, Scientology, praise of the 1992 riots for burning liquor stores, & the Nation of Islam?

I'm so confused tbh

I believe part of the vetting process is to let the media dissect the candidate. If they would have failed to vet her, they would still be considering her. Wouldn't you think?

What if it's Michelle Obama? What if those campaign events with Obama were 5D Chess triple fakes where Joe had a chance to interview her?

This is some Mexican novella level drama here.

All we need is for Biden to say “My VP pick... is...” with a dramatic percussion loop for about 40 seconds while all of the contenders look around at each other nervously, then we see the title screen and know we have to wait another week to find out.

LOL. You're hired.

Well, this is one way to control the news cycle for possibly a week or two, while generating excitement.

And this is why I said Joe needed to do it by the weekend. You don't say "Oh I'm gonna do it very soon" and then we come to find out it's gonna be damn near a week. It's a less than good look.

That hurts him how?  They are rolling this out in a systemic, disciplined way to get all of their ducks in a row.  They have chosen a candidate, assembled her team, and are also using the anticipation to encourage folks to sign up for text/email lists to add to their list of potential donors.

This is just the latest example of how profesionally the campaign is run.  I know it sucks having to wait, but we should be appreciative that the campaign is being run so well.

I have failed to resist, and I ended up texting "FIRST" to 30330...
