Gallup (September 2nd)

Approve 34% (-/-)
Disapprove 61% (-/-)

I don't see a Harvey bump coming out of this. He's just too hated. Besides, his response hasn't been great compared to Obama's towards Sandy.

His half-spirited $1 million pledge walk-back isn't going to help either.

Trump is at 36% in the new NBC poll while Hillary is at 30%. So there is a chance that Trump faces a deeply unpopular Dem candidate in 2020 (like Hillary) & wins.

It is possible for a Dem candidate to have worse approvals than Trump.

Nobody outside of Hillary or Pelosi would fall in that category. Both of them have been slandered for decades.

Anybody else surprised by how well Trump is holding up in New Mexico, Virginia and Minnesota (at least compared to the rest of country)
Yes, but margin of error and everything.

This. MN, as it has proven time and time again, is extremely inelastic, with Democrats having a higher floor and ceiling.

If the Dems nominate the right candidate and Trump is still on the ballot 2020 could really be the election Texas turns blue (or red in Atlas colors).

You will not live to see that, because of the political polarization even if they do not like Trump not vataran for a Democrat

It's well known Texas will be a blue state in the future. The growing minority population will be too much for the GOP to adapt.

That is a nonsense myth, everyone knows that most of that "minority population" never votes for laziness or for being illegal
I don't know how bad things are in FYROM, but we don't have parties that support those things here.

I know right? What a ridiculous statement, even for a troll, lol.

All Trump has to do is shut up and he can salvage this presidency.

Don't worry. The healthcare disaster is right around the corner already.

He wouldn't win New Hampshire after calling it a drug infested den.

Yeah, he pretty much threw out NH. His disapproval ratings there are en par with those in titanium D states.

I like that he's closing in on 60% disapproval. It doesn't matter whether he's at 35-42% approval if he's consistently at or near 60% disapproval with near or at 50% strong disapproval.

I wonder if his ratings will take a hit as a result of his incompetence regarding the Hurricane Maria aftermath in Puerto Rico.

This is worse than Katrina, and we know what Hurricane Katrina did to the polling numbers for Dubya.

Lying, glory-seeking fool!

It's not worse than Katrina. Katrina killed nearly 2,000 people. The death toll here isn't at 100 yet.

The reported death toll* The morgues in the hospitals are full, and the deaths are not reported as caused directly by the storm, but by the complications that came after it because of the insufficient reaction from the administration.

Looking at approvals, it seems that most mainland Americans don't care about Puerto Rican Americans. No surprise there.

More than how low that approval number is, the disapproval is what's really shocking.

Gallup (October 6th)

Approve 39% (nc)
Disapprove 56% (-1)
Clearly the previous survey was rubbish

From Reuters/Ipsos: Among rural voters, Trump is at 47/47, compared to 55/39 during the first week of his presidency.

An even split among rural votes is a huge danger sign for Trump.
