Run as what? A Republican? Independent? Because he has no chances of winning the Democratic primary.

With his record - Voting to defund planned parenthood, pro-life image, only Senator who didn't vote to repeal Don't ask, Don't tell, doesn't support gay marriage, is terrible on the environment - Climate Change denier coal baron, voted for the water & air to be polluted & for Pruitt (forget Carbon taxes, cap n trade or fracking ban). He's center-right in many economic policies, doesn't support any expansion of healthcare or affordable education,is strongly pro-guns & has dis-respected Obama.

It is impossible to run as a Democrat - The Democratic party will probably disintegrate if he is the nominee !

Joe Manchin is the only chance I see of Republicans damaging the Democratic party & putting a big question mark over its future! You can handle Booker or Clinton temporarily however bad it is. But if you have an anti-gay, anti-abortion, pro-gun, climate change denier, economically center-right Democrat, the party is done.

Under that case I can see Sanders being fed up & going to the Green Party (which is a worthless one) or forming his one & a significant portion of the base will be so fu**ed up that I can see more Democrats voting for an Independent/3rd party than Manchin as the D.

I don't see Manchin winning a single state, not even WV with a 3rd party/independent progressive opponent. And the Democrats will have no logic to justify as the party of liberals & conservatives - They will be the Republican party Part 2. As a matter of fact, I think Susan Collins is a far better candidate & if it was Manchin vs Collins (hypothetically), Collins will get much more Democratic votes than Manchin  !
