Huh, what terrorists did Hussein kill? He gassed his own people for the most part...and tried to assassinate Poppy Bush. But Republicans, you're stuck with him until November.

I disagree with Trump on the Iraq War, but I know where he is coming from.

The whole Shia/Shiite Muslim civil war thing in Iraq didn't come to pass during Saddam Hussein's reign because he was such an utter dirtbag that he was murdering his own people at the first hint of insurrection.  To that extent, ISIS or really any dissent could not grow under in a Saddam Hussein Iraq.

Once Saddam was deposed, civil war broke out. Once Obama didn't leave a forward base of operations in Iraq, it left a vacuum where ISIS could flourish.

But tonight, Trump praised him for how great he was at "killing terrorists." He doesn't know that those "terrorists" were actually his own people. I just don't get Trump - why even find anything to praise about Saddam?

Further, we already know he was for the Iraq war before he was against it. He praises strong-men for acting tough - but just like with Putin, these people only act tough on their own. What does Trump find so appealing about Saddam and Putin...and for that matter, Kim Jong Un? It's just a very bizarre worldview in my opinion.
